Since the end of the 5th season of the television series "Game of Thrones", its plot began to radically differ from the books that formed its basis. Because of this, fans of the Song of Ice and Fire series have less hope that Quentin Martell will appear on the show.
Quentin's pedigree
Those who have not read the book, but are closely watching the events of the Game of Thrones, this character is not familiar. Readers are well aware that Quentin Martell is the eldest son of the ruler of Dorn, Prince Doran, and his wife Mellario. In addition to him, the spouses have a daughter Arianna and a son Tristan. In the television series in Dorn, only the latter is present. Quentin and Arianna are not mentioned, although this may change in the future.
Among the distant ancestors of the Martell were the Targaryen, which is probably why they always sought to intermarry with the ruling house of Westeros.

Despite this, it was difficult for him to find a common language with the girls. Because of this, until the age of 18, he remained a virgin.
Prince Martell was well educated. He spoke the languages of the cities of the Slave Traders Bay very well, in addition, he wrote and read well in high Valyrian.
Quentin was also an excellent knight: he skillfully fought with a spear, as well as with a shield and a sword.
Prince Quentin Martell: childhood
Long before the birth of the prince, his uncle Oberin killed a representative of a noble Ironwood family during a duel. The circumstances of the death of the vanquished made others suspect that Oberin had oiled his weapons. Although they could not prove it, a conflict arose between the Martell and Ironwoods. To settle it, Doran sent his eldest son Quentin as a hostage to Lord Anders, the grandson of the nobleman poisoned by Oberin.
Quentin Martell spent all his childhood and part of his youth in Ironwood Castle. Initially, he served as the page of Lord Anders, later became a squire, and at the age of 18 he was knighted.
Here the young man fell in love for the first time. The lady of his heart was the eldest daughter of the owner of the castle, Inis. However, the girl did not reciprocate with the Dornish prince and soon married another.
Quentin Martell: teens
While Quentin stayed with the Ironwoods, his father tried to arrange dynastic marriages for his children.
So Tristan was engaged to the sister of the ruler of Westeros, Joffrey Baratheon Mircella, and Arianna was secretly promised as a wife to the son of the former owner of the Iron Throne, Viseris Targaryen. Thanks to this arrangement, whoever takes the throne of the Seven Kingdoms, he will become the closest relative of the rulers of Dorn.
However, when Viseris died and his sister Daenerys revived the dragons and began to assemble an army, Prince Doran returns his eldest son home. He decides to make him his heir, but for this he sends the prince to marry Queen Daenerys.
Together with the companions, Quentin Martell tries to get to the Free cities, but due to the abolition of the slave trade, ships do not go there. Upon reflection, Dorn's heir, under a false name, is hired by a squire in the Prince-Tornado squad. Serving there, he takes part in many important battles and soon gets to Mierin. Here he finds Daenerys and opens before her. However, the queen refuses to marry the prince, because in order to keep the city, she must become the wife of one of the local aristocracy - Hizdar zo Lorak.
During the wedding, the groom tries to poison the bride, but Daenerys manages to escape and she flies away from the city on one of the dragons.
The mystery of the death of Quentin Martella
Taking advantage of the absence of the queen, Quentin decides to steal the two remaining dragons and bring them to Dorn. Since his ancestors were also Targaryen, he assumed that fire-breathing creatures would listen to him. However, when the Dornisser freed them, one of the dragons burned him with flame and flew away.
Three days after this, everyone was informed that Quentin Martell had died. However, the death of this character causes doubts among readers - they hope that in the books “Winds of Winter” or “Dream of Spring” he will appear again and play an important role.
There are several versions confirming that the hero survived. So, some believe that the found burnt body belonged to the Prince-Tattered, and not the Dornish heir. Perhaps because of this confusion, Quentin was considered dead.
Another proof that this hero survived is the lack of a description of his death in the text. The chapter in the book ends with the fact that it caught fire, and the readers learn the rest from the story of its companions, which contains a lot of inaccuracies, and it seems that they are lying.
In addition, the description of the fire of the Dornish prince is similar to how Daenerys caught fire on the funeral pyre of his first husband. As the fans know, it did not burn out, since many Targaryen are immune to fire, and it is likely that Quentin Martell also has it.
"Game of Thrones" given became a hit and for many years does not give up its position. However, not all the storylines of the books can be included in the script of the film. At the moment, in the series, Quentin Doran's father is killed by Oberin's mistress, and she and her daughters rule the state. The circumstances are now the most favorable for the appearance of the Dornish prince in the plot, but it is not known whether the scriptwriters will do this. Meanwhile, fans hope that in 7 or 8 seasons Quentin Martell will appear. The actor who could play this role has not yet been selected by them, but fierce debate about the candidacy is already underway.
