Abdominal pain, abdominal pain

In medicine, the term "abdominal pain" describes the presence of pain in diseases of the digestive system. In this case, the nature and type of pain depends on the type of disease, on the age and gender of the person. Often this kind of pain is observed not only with a violation of the functions of the digestive organs, such as the stomach, esophagus, intestines and gall bladder, but also of other organs, for example, the liver, kidneys and spleen. The presence of pain in the abdomen requires examination to make an accurate diagnosis of the disease.

Abdominal pain, or abdominal pain, is divided into acute and chronic. Acute pain occurs either suddenly or within a few hours, chronic ones develop over a long period of time, they can appear and disappear again and are the result of chronic diseases of the stomach or intestines.

Thus, the causes of abdominal pain syndromes can be:

1. Inflammation of some internal organs and pelvic organs. These include diseases such as appendicitis, stomach ulcers, pancreatitis, lymphadenitis, gastritis, hepatitis.

2. Various ischemic disorders of the organs: heart attack of the intestine, liver and spleen and all possible torsions of the internal organs.

3. Diseases of the chest cavity: pneumonia, pleurisy, coronary heart disease, diseases of the esophagus.

4. Various metabolic disorders: diabetes, goiter, renal failure, etc.

5. The effect of toxic substances on the body with insect bites and various kinds of poisoning.

Pain in the abdomen can be caused by various mechanisms and are divided into visceral, somatic, psychogenic and radiating pains.

1. Visceral pain occurs due to the development of organ pathology, while there is pressure on the diseased organ, muscle tension of the peritoneum as a result of stretching its walls.

2. Somatic pain syndrome is observed in the pathology of the peritoneum, its walls and tissues and requires surgical intervention.

3. In frequent cases, the psychogenic mechanism of the onset of pain is associated with the presence of depression, accompanied by headache, prolonged pain in the back and throughout the body.

4. Radiating pain syndrome occurs due to damage to any organ of the abdominal cavity, including the liver and kidneys. So, impulses in places where the liver or kidneys hurt can be transmitted to the surface of the body.

Symptoms that pose the greatest danger and are indicative of surgical intervention include a decrease in pressure and dizziness, bleeding, abdominal pain, accompanied by vomiting and bloating, fainting and muscle tension of the peritoneum.

The most common disorders of the digestive organs is spastic dyskinesia, accompanied by spastic pain in the abdomen. This disease is caused by spasms of the internal organs or the occurrence of their pathology, as well as various poisonings. Such pains are usually paroxysmal and stop after taking painkillers. This kind of pain can be given to the back, lower back, limbs and even to the liver, so often a person thinks about how to relieve pain in the liver, not suspecting the true causes of its occurrence. At the same time, a person becomes agitated and restless, he has chills and fever.

Thus, abdominal pain can occur due to the development of pathologies or painful conditions of the digestive system. Self-treatment is contraindicated, since there may be several reasons for the appearance of pain, only a doctor can make a correct diagnosis.
