Staphylococcus is classified as opportunistic microbes. Among many others, it constantly inhabits our body: intestines, mouth, nose, skin, pharynx, mucous membrane of the eyes. There it is part of the normal microflora (by the way, the set of microorganisms in this microflora and their ratio are absolutely individual). But if suddenly this microbe falls into inappropriate conditions, it can cause the development of diseases. Particularly aggressive (pathogenic) is Staphylococcus aureus.
How does infection happen?
Staphylococcus aureus is a constant problem of medical institutions in which regular disinfection is carried out, killing the entire microflora on the surfaces: both pathogenic and not being such. And the first one that appears on the cleaned sterile territory is a named microorganism that spreads from the mucous membranes and skin of people. Without competition, it is taken to proliferate actively, causing disease.
In a wound, for example, it causes suppuration, and if Staphylococcus aureus settles in the intestine, then diarrhea, vomiting, acute abdominal pain develops, often accompanied by fever and a rash on the palms and soles.
The disease caused by staphylococcus can also occur due to an elementary violation of hygienic rules for the storage and preparation of products. And if the human body has a metabolic disorder or a malfunction in the immune defense, then he is especially helpless before the infection.
How to treat staphylococcus in the intestine
Staphylococcus aureus in the intestine most often causes false urge to defecate, sharp stitching pains in the abdomen and
loose stools. Like any
foodborne toxicoinfection, it is treated by washing the stomach with boiled water or, better, a pale pink
solution of potassium permanganate in it. Adults, having drunk about a liter of it, should induce vomiting, and give children as much solution as they can drink.
There is no need to take antibiotics with such a pathology, since the microbes that enter the body are not dangerous, and the activity of the toxins secreted by them will not reduce these drugs.
It should be noted that intestinal dysbiosis caused by staphylococcal infection lasts no more than 2 days (if measures are taken to treat it). If diarrhea is more prolonged, the temperature rises, and traces of blood appear in the stool, you should immediately consult a doctor!
How to treat the presence of Staphylococcus aureus
Staphylococcus aureus in the intestine is an absolutely normal inhabitant. But
only until the level of its concentration exceeds the norm. And this can happen, as mentioned above, in cases of weakened immunity, a malfunction in the metabolism and in the presence of infection factors: poor-quality products, contact with infected people, etc. Diseases caused by this staphylococcus are usually cured.
And as a preventive measure, you can advise measures to strengthen the immune system, improve the general condition of the body. It is also necessary to observe hygiene rules and to abstain from contact with patients, this is especially important for young children. In no case do not use antibiotics thoughtlessly and uncontrollably to treat any diseases! Then Staphylococcus aureus in the intestines and other parts of your body will not threaten you with a disease.
