Musician Tatyana Sergeeva: biography, creativity, photo

In the music and near-music world, some names of composers cause delight, respect and even envy. Others are skepticism, neglect and, even worse, indifference. The name of the heroine of this article primarily causes a happy smile on the faces of her listeners. Those who are lucky enough to hear her works, as a rule, begin to adore her work.

Childhood and youth

Russian musician Tatyana Sergeeva was born in Moscow on November 28, 1951. Her parents were never musicians, however, in the Sergeevs' house there was an old grandmother's piano, to which the future Member of the Union of Composers and Honored Artist of Russia was drawn with terrible force.

Seeing this desire of the daughter, parents soon gave her the Dunaevsky Children's Music School, located very close to their home, and when Tatyana was seven years old, the doors of the Central Music School, a special school at the conservatory, opened before her.

Already during her studies at the Children's Music School, Tatyana Sergeeva showed a talent for musical writing, and by the time she started classes at the Central Music School, she could already improvise melodies that appeared, it would seem, from nowhere, and unlike any music that could be heard by the child at that time.

When Tatyana became a schoolgirl, a passion for drawing was added to her passion for music. Her oil paintings acquired their own style, which she herself called "forced primitivism." Both in music and in painting, Tatyana also found herself outside of any schools. Her own favorite drawing, representing Tatyana Sergeeva’s work from the school age, was called “Cowboys” - against the background of the color of a bloody burgundy, the bar counter and characteristic profiles of men in cowboy hats were scratched. In the foreground was a sexy and defiantly protruding hip lady.

In this case, the girl’s musical writing literally gushed. At that time, she had already begun quite serious and systematic lessons in composition, and she wrote easily, quickly, rapidly and a lot, much like many teenagers, having reached adolescence, pour out their countless poetic experiences on paper.

When Tatyana Sergeeva was sixteen years old, the musical compositional “fountain” suddenly closed. The girl was very worried. It was as if she had suddenly forgotten how to speak. However, after three years, writing music began to return to her again.

Musical education

By the time the composer's abilities returned to her life, Tatyana just managed to graduate from the Central Music School in 1970, after which she entered one of the leading music higher educational institutions in Russia and the world - the P. Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

Having become his graduate in the specialty “Piano and Organ”, in 1975 the musical biography of Tatyana Sergeeva continued at the Moscow Conservatory, in which she studied for four more years in the specialty “Composition”.

From 1979 to 1981, at the same conservatory, Tatyana passed an assistant-internship in the composition class.

Master

Having passed all the thorns of her musical studies, which had begun even before the comprehensive school, by the time she entered the world of big music, our heroine became a performer outside the existing landmarks and apologists of the modern world of art, like the Schumannian definition of a musician:

A musician is one who sings naturally, involuntarily, like a bird on a tree branch ...

Tatyana Pavlovna Sergeeva is not only an original and unlike any other composer, but also a virtuoso pianist, organist and harpsichord player. There is no difficulty for her to play any of the keyboards, for which she masterfully composes transcriptions for music created by other composers.

Tatyana Pavlovna even plays those Beethoven marches and polonaises that he himself endowed with such virtuoso luxury, requiring the pianist physically unthinkable tricks that for many decades even musicians fanatically devoted to the work of this great composer did not care about them.

Sergeeva also performs Russian music of the XVIII-XIX centuries, which is generally a rarity in the music world. In her repertoire you can hear Bach and Handel, and in general everything that you do not expect from her.

Composer

The work of Tatyana Sergeeva as a composer is also free from any coercion. Her works are guided only by common sense and some sort of line of unshakable truth that she found herself, stretching from one of her works to another, like the thread of Ariadne from ancient Greek mythology, which for many years has been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Tatiana.

She has access to minimalism, expressed in a soft, non-conceptual form. Neo-romantic beauties and neo-expressionism are not alien to her. However, she does not adhere to any style, doing only what she wants today, and only because today she has developed just such a mood.

It is impossible to choose a specific generalizing term for the works of Tatyana Sergeeva, none of them will do. What she does is just music, natural and natural, surprising and living in her own time.

Merits

Tatyana Pavlovna - Honored Artist of Russia. In 1982, she became a Member of the Union of Composers of Russia, and was also awarded the Beethoven Gold Medal (Germany).

In 1987, Sergeyev was awarded the D. D. Shostakovich Composer Prize, and in 2003 she became a laureate of the S. S. Prokofiev International Composers Competition.

The biography of Tatyana Sergeeva has countless radio recordings, and almost all of them are included in the golden fund of the world of music. At the same time, Tatyana Pavlovna is completely devoid of ambitiousness. She cannot refuse if she is asked to play something somewhere. However, when it comes to her own tours in Russia or abroad, where she is also loved and appreciated, they will always be random. She has no producers or directors.

Currently, Tatyana Pavlovna has been appointed executive secretary of the Union of Composers of Russia, but this fact still does not matter to her. After all, the main thing is music ...

Today

Currently, Sergeeva is engaged in a wide concert activity. She is actively touring Russia, the countries of the former USSR, Germany, Italy, the USA, France and wherever she awaits her solo performances with piano, organ and harpsichord programs of her own compositions, as well as the works of her favorite composers.

Today, she does not care about the result. The process itself is much more interesting:

I take this lightly as a result and very seriously as a process. In the summer I get up at dawn, catch the sun, redo, scrap, add, staying for a long time in creative ecstasy. This gives you complete switching, “recharging" and a lot of pleasure ...

Tatyana Pavlovna Sergeeva is still a participant in many international festivals of modern music, still is engaged in painting and writes poetry.
