Figures of the modern film industry - recognized masters and debutants - periodically indulge the viewer with stories-forecasts about the future of mankind. More often they, to the extent of their exuberant imagination, predict human civilization all kinds of troubles, catastrophes and horrors. In most cases, such post-apocalyptic film forecasts look unconvincing, they are not at all scared to watch. But the group of creators of the Japanese film “Attack of the Titans”, the reviews of the audience will not let you lie, it is possible to scare the beholder for real.
Cram the indescribable
At that moment, when it became known for certain that the Japanese director Shinji Higuchi, one of the leading experts in the field of film effects in Japan, co-author of the legendary series Evangelion, began work on a full meter of the film version of Attack, a great stir began around the world. Monsters manage to breach the centuries-old wall and begin to feed on a limited territory of the reserve of mankind. With infant spontaneity, these giants devour a scurrying population in panic. In this monstrous meat grinder, Eren loses his beloved Mikasu (Kiko Mizuhara), but realizes his purpose and meaning of life. The hero craves revenge and intends to destroy all the cannibals. Having secured the support of an old friend of Armin (Kanat Hongo), he enlisted in a squad of suicide bombers in order to eliminate a gap in the wall with an explosion and arrange a well-deserved Holocaust for overt monsters. Moreover, the General Security Council and his group are bombarded with stones during the collision. And now only companions-friends of Eren can save the city.
Attempt to make excuses
While watching the picture, it seems that the authors are in a hurry to justify themselves after the failure of the first episode of “Attack of the Titans” (reviews of the film are predominantly written in a negative way). If the first picture introduced the audience to the heroes, outlining their world and problems, then the second was to become an epic battle culmination. There it was. "End of the World" contains much more talk: about the history of the origin of monsters, the meaning of life, the perspective of the future, etc., and they look completely ridiculous. So the second part is at first embarrassing by nightmarish dialogues, and afterwards completely disappoints with climactic fights. In fairness, it is worth noting that the battles do not look completely helpless and unimpressive, but the viewer had the right to count on something stunning. Otherwise, the second episode is the same as the first. The movie characters are unlike their prototypes from the comic book, the plot intrigue is primitive, and sometimes absurd, not too spectacular special effects. But thrash movie fans will love it.
