“Furamag” is a complex preparation with pronounced antibacterial properties, which are determined by the content of the active substance - furazidine (1: 1 ratio with magnesium carbonate). It belongs to the group of nitrofurans and has a fairly wide spectrum of action. A positive effect is observed in the treatment of classical staphylococci and Escherichia coli, as well as in the neutralization of pathogens of paratyphoid; during therapy, there is a regression of the symptoms of genitourinary infections provoked by resistant strains.
The ability to maintain a peak concentration of reagents in lymph and bile for a long time is a distinctive feature of the Furamag preparation (analogues demonstrate a slightly different metabolic dynamics and often do not give the desired result).

The reaction mechanism is based on a gradual slowdown in the synthesis of nucleic acids. Furamaga reagents affect the respiratory activity of microorganisms by blocking cells with subsequent disruption of the production cycle of tricarboxylic compounds. At the same time, there is a destructive effect on the cytoplasmic membrane (or biological membrane). Since all the important functions of microorganisms are paralyzed, they will soon die. However, the effect of the use of the drug takes place even before the stage of a significant decrease in the number of pathogens: the active furazidine begins to break down toxins - a product of the vital activity of bacteria - at the initial stage of absorption, which positively affects the patient's well-being. And this is the main feature of the therapeutic course based on the Furamag preparation (analogues, the prices of which are comparable to the cost of this medication, as a rule, cannot guarantee a similar scenario).

The expediency of use is determined by the doctor according to the results of the examination. Diagnoses in which the purpose of the drug is relevant: cystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, which proceeds in a chronic or acute form, prostatitis, other diseases caused by gynecological infections. “Furamag” provides good health-improving dynamics while eliminating traces of severe burns. Method of application and dosage
"Furamag", the price of which in pharmacies is 350-950 rubles (depending on the form of release), refers to medicines not of a symptomatic, but of a regular cycle of admission. In case of violation of the temporary regimen, it is necessary to take measures to receive the next dose as soon as possible. However, it is strictly forbidden to use the double norm of the substance in order to replace the missed intake.
"Furamag" is an oral drug. It is used immediately after eating and washed down with water (at least 150 ml). The maximum allowable daily dosage: for adults - 300 mg, for children weighing more than 30 kg - 150 mg (subject to the regime of "breakfast - lunch - dinner"). For children under the age of 10 years, the total dose is determined by the formula: d = 5 x m, where d is the maximum amount of the drug to be consumed within 24 hours (mg), m is the weight of the child (kg).
Limitations and side effects
Contraindications to the drug "Furamag" (analogues, the composition of which is identical to the specified tool, are also undesirable for use in these cases) are as follows:
- individual intolerance to the basic components or increased sensitivity to derivatives of nitrofuran group;
- chronic or acute liver and kidney diseases (including atypical toxic hepatitis) ;
- pregnancy (period of breastfeeding);
- disturbances in the body's work, expressed in acute deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase.
The general reaction of organs and systems to taking Furamaga can be called positive (the active substance is characterized by low toxicity and good absorption).
However, as exceptions, the following side effects are likely:
- permanent dizziness;
- anorexia;
- skin disorders in the form of an allergic rash ;
- depression
- drowsiness;
- aching pain in the right hypochondrium;
- imbalance in the liver.

Interaction with other medications
Furamag is often used in the diagnosis of cystitis. Medicines aimed at combating this disease, as a rule, are distinguished by tolerance to other medications of the same pharmacological group. However, there is a list of undesirable combinations. So, for example, the simultaneous use of Furamag and chloramphenicol (ristomycin, chloramphenicol) can lead to inhibition of hematopoiesis. A negative effect is observed when interacting with quinol derivatives. Antacids, in turn, prevent the smooth absorption of the active components of the drug, and representatives of the probenicides group slow down the elimination of “Furamag” from the body, which, of course, is fraught with side effects.

The antimicrobial properties of the drug are enhanced by antibiotics related to penicillins and cephalosporins (a similar effect is achieved by combining Furamag with erythromycin or tetracycline).

Inflammation of the kidneys, bladder and excretory canals, as well as diverse preventive measures aimed at minimizing the likelihood of relapse in the urinary system - in all these cases, tablets from cystitis "Furadonin" can be used for its intended purpose. Among the main contraindications are chronic ailments of the liver and kidneys. In addition, it is not recommended to take the drug for pregnant women and newborns (under the age of 1 month). You should also refrain from breastfeeding.
