Cooking liquor at home

Liquors are usually called strong enough alcoholic beverages, which contain sugar, as well as some aromatic component - fruits, nuts, herbs, coffee, chocolate or even milk.

It is believed that the inventors of liquors are ancient alchemists who, in search of the coveted elixir of life, mixed various components. Unfortunately, they did not succeed in obtaining a drink granting immortality, but the alchemists managed to create recipes for liquors that are used by modern manufacturers of alcoholic beverages.

Liqueurs are drinks that are consumed both in pure form and as part of a wide variety of cocktails. In addition, liquors are usually served for dessert with tea or coffee.

Today in stores there is no shortage of alcoholic beverages, liqueurs can be chosen for every taste. But the most delicious and aromatic drinks are obtained if you prepare liquor at home.

To make liquor, you will need vodka, granulated sugar, as well as additional ingredients, depending on the type of beverage you are preparing.

Often, housewives prepare berry liquor at home, getting a very tasty drink with an exquisite berry aroma. To prepare it, you need to take fresh berries (this can be raspberries, strawberries, currants, cranberries), pour them into a jar and pour vodka so that the liquid covers the contents of the jar. The dishes are kept for 4-5 days, then the vodka is drained, and the berries are poured with the same amount of water and put on fire. When the liquid boils, it is removed from the fire and allowed to stand for several hours. The broth is filtered and sugar syrup is cooked on its basis. How much sugar to take? Here you need to focus on your own taste, because some people like very sweet drinks, while others prefer a moderately sweet taste. When cooking syrup, be sure to remove the foam. Then add the previously merged vodka infused on the berries into the cooled syrup and mix well. Next, the resulting liquor is filtered, bottled and corked. For greater tightness, the cork can be filled with wax.

In addition, liquor at home is traditionally prepared from citrus fruits - oranges or lemons. The preparation technology is similar, only vodka should insist on the zest of fruits (it must first be scalded with boiling water to remove excess bitterness). And the syrup is boiled in water with the addition of orange or lemon juice.

You can also prepare mint liquor at home by insisting on vodka on mint leaves. In such a liquor, you can add spices - a little nutmeg and fragrant calamus.

There are recipes that tell you how to make liquor at home so that it tastes like creamy Baileys. To prepare it, condensed and concentrated milk is mixed (in a standard jar), 4 yolks from chicken eggs, a couple of bags of vanillin and about a spoonful of coffee are added to them (you can take any instant). All this is well beaten with a mixer, then half a liter of vodka is poured into the mixture and again everything is well mixed. It remains to let the liquor infuse for several hours and you can try the drink.

Another popular recipe is coffee liquor. For its preparation, you can take instant coffee, but it will be better if you use natural freshly ground, so the drink will be more aromatic. So how to make coffee liquor? The recipe is simple: syrup is made from 50 grams of coffee powder using 250 grams of water and 250 grams of sugar. The prepared syrup needs to be cooled and filtered, then mixed with a bottle of vodka. The drink can be served immediately after preparation. But it will be much better if the liquor stays at least a week. Then it will acquire an unusual aroma and will impress guests with its taste.
