The solution of this drug has a yellowish color, a bitter taste, no odor.
It is applied externally (for example, the Dioxidin medication is prescribed in the ears for purulent otitis media), intracavitary and intravenous. The mechanism of action of the drug is still not fully understood. It is known that the drug "Dioxidin" selectively inhibits the development of DNA in the cells of microorganisms, without affecting the formation of protein and RNA.
Does the administration of the “Dioxidin” preparation in the ears help with purulent otitis media?
With purulent otitis media in the case when other antibiotics do not help, the doctor may prescribe the drug “Dioxidine”. This medication quickly relieves inflammation and has a local anesthetic effect.
First, a warming compress is applied to the affected ear (you can take a nodule with hot salt), which will speed up the resolution of the inflammatory process. In case of increased pain, the warming dressing should be removed immediately. Then you need to clean the ear canal. To do this, the auricle is pulled up and back (for children - down and back) and carefully cleaned with a cotton swab. This procedure must be repeated until the fleece remains clean and dry.
