This product, created specifically for the fight against viruses, is a derivative of adamantane - a clear crystal with a strong camphor odor and a strength that exceeds the strength of a diamond. The drugs synthesized from it are able to fight the most powerful viruses.
Means "Remantadin" - the instruction explains this - successfully destroys the viruses of influenza A, tick-borne encephalitis. It activates lymphocytes, increases the pH of endosomes. It does not allow viral particles to leave the cell, and suppresses the early stage of virus reproduction. The drug "Remantadine", the use of which has wide borders, has immunomodulatory and anti-toxic effects.
The medicine is sold in pharmacies freely, but this does not mean that it can be taken by everyone, without exception. Means "Remantadine" (the instruction warns) is forbidden to accept newborns, pregnant and lactating. It can cause seizures in patients with epilepsy, worsen the condition of people suffering from chronic renal or hepatic diseases.
Despite the fact that the drug is recognized as an excellent tool for the prevention of influenza A, almost harmless for all categories of patients, it can still cause side effects in some categories of patients.

The instruction gives the following recommendations:
- treatment and prevention of influenza A;

- during an epidemic;
- together with antiviral vaccines to consolidate their action.
Depending on the purpose of the drug, its dosage and duration of the course vary.
So, in order to avoid infection during epidemics, the medicine will have to be drunk for 6-8 weeks. After talking with people with the flu, the course can be limited to ten days, and after the introduction of the flu vaccine, three weeks.
For treatment, the drug is prescribed according to the scheme. Adults are given 100 mg three times on the first day, then 200 mg twice, and 100 mg on the fourth and fifth day.
To prevent influenza, it is enough to take 50 mg of the drug for a month for adults, five days for children.
To protect yourself from encephalitis, you will have to take 100 mg of the drug for three days strictly after 12 hours.
During the course of treatment, concomitant diseases may worsen in patients. For example, elderly hypertensive patients may develop hemorrhagic infarction. For these reasons, taking the drug “Remantadine” (the instructions insist on this) should be taken along with medicines for chronic diseases.
The drug has analogues. These include the drugs "Polirem", "Orvirem" and "Algirim". The basis of these drugs is the same active substance as the basis of the drug - rimantadine, a derivative of adamantane.
