The drug "Reduxin" is the first domestic drug designed to combat alimentary obesity. The active substance that is part of it - sibutramine - refers to psychoactive substances.
Methods of release - capsules of 10 mg or 15 mg in an amount of from 7 to 15 pieces in a blister or from 7 to 30 or 60 pieces in plastic jars. Such a variety of packages is due to the high cost of reduxin. Today, this drug causes a lot of controversy, since the list of contraindications for its use consists of 11 points.
About how the drug "Reduxin"
The effect of reduxin is combined due to its constituent components: the sibutramine substance and microcrystalline cellulose.
With regard to sibutramine, the first component of the drug "Reduxin", the instruction indicates that, breaking down in the human body, it passes into the form of amines, which penetrate the human brain and inhibit the processes of serotonin and norepinephrine uptake, thereby increasing the amount of these hormones. The human brain receives false information about the already accomplished fact of receiving pleasure from eating. Appetite is reduced due to the appearance of a feeling of fullness already from a small amount of food.
Sibutramine, acting on adipose tissue, accelerates the breakdown of fat, "burning" it and thereby increasing energy expenditure.
The second component, microcrystalline cellulose, which is part of the Reduxin tablets, is described by the manual as a sorbent that incorporates toxins, metabolic products, allergens, thereby cleansing the human body of “toxins”.
Both of these aspects, combined, contribute to weight loss. At the same time, there is an increase in the concentration of high density lipoproteins in the blood serum , the so-called “good” or “alpha proteins”, which significantly reduce the risk of atherosclerosis and diseases of the cardiovascular system.
Along with an increase in the concentration of HDL in the blood for the drug "Reduxin", the instruction also indicates a decrease in the level of total cholesterol, its carriers - low density lipoproteins, uric acid and organic fats - triglycerides.
About the dosage of the drug
Receiving capsules "Reduxin", as a rule, is prescribed once a day in the morning for 1 pc. during or before meals. In this case, you need to drink the medicine with a large amount of water. You should start taking the medicine with 10 mg. In case of poor tolerance to the drug, the dose is halved. If the effect of weight loss does not appear within four weeks from the start of taking Reduxine, the instruction recommends increasing the dose to 15 mg.
