Alexander Uman and the story of Bi-2

Those who like domestic rock, seeing in the media a patlasty fair-haired and brown-eyed man with a mole on his chin and a guitar in his hands, will certainly recognize him as the guitarist of the Bi-2 group - Shuru. But few people know that in fact his name is Alexander Uman.

Biography

Uman Alexander Nikolaevich first saw the light of day in 1970, or rather, on February 3. The place of his birth was the Belarusian city of Bobruisk. The people who gave him life were Inna Alexandrovna and Nikolai Iosifovich. In the veins of the famous musician, the blood of three different peoples flows: Jewish, Belarusian and Uzbek. The latter went to him from grandmother Karina.

In the creative center, Uman Alexander (Shura “Bi-2” in the future) carefully mastered the techniques of playing the bass and, being a fifteen-year-old boy, he moved to Minsk.

Subsequently, it became clear that fate itself told him to go to the capital of Belarus, because it was there, studying in a theater club for children, he met the future frontman of the Bi-2 group - Leva, whose real name is Yegor Bortnik. This significant event happened back in 1985. Uman recalls it this way:

Leva often revolved around me, but then dared and importantly stated that one of his sidekick was writing poetry. When I read them, I immediately understood everything - the verses were his own!

It was there that teenagers decided to create something like a "theater of the absurd", but after some extravagant productions in 1988, the theater was closed. Then Alexander Uman and Yegor Bortnik realized that they should make music that would fully reflect their inner world.

The next step in development was the creation of a team called “Brothers in Arms”, but then the name was changed to “Coast of Truth”, which was reduced to “Bi-2”. The audience liked the guys, and soon they began to tour the expanses of Belarus, but for them this, of course, was not enough.

Relocation

February 1991, Alexander Uman from "Bi-2" met already in the Israeli Republic. Soon he called to himself and his best friend Leva, with whom they safely settled as security guards at a construction site, devoting free time to playing music at the gatehouse. The zeal of the musicians for fame was generously rewarded by the fact that the Bi-2 group won the Jerusalem rock festival.

Then (in 1993), Shura went to see his cousin, who lives in Australia, so they did not hear about the group for a long five years. But the guys did not lose heart and continued to create, keeping in touch over the phone.

Alexander Uman did not sit idle and in the country the kangaroo joined the group Chiron. And from 1997 to 1998, Shura was writing reports from various performances for the St. Petersburg magazine Fuzz.

Friends meeting

February 1998 was marked by a joyful meeting of two bosom friends, since Leva nevertheless came to Shura in Australia. Of course, the main goal was the revival of the group, so not even a year had passed before Bi-2 released its first album, Asexual and Sad Love, and immediately after it the second album was ready for release, which, alas, was not released .

Its name was “And the ship is sailing”, and several songs from it were successfully shot live on domestic radio stations (a good friend helped), after which they became hits. The song "Heart" could often be heard on "Our Radio".

The long-awaited glory

From the moment the songs were broadcast live, the Bi-2 group became a welcome guest in Moscow, and in September 1999 the guys arrived in the capital of the Russian state. There they scored the missing musicians and began to play concerts briskly. It was only during their arrival that the stars settled down unsuccessfully, and no one cared about their genius, since default was raging in the country.

Alexander Uman and Yegor Bortnik began to upset the production thresholds, but this did not lead to anything.

Group Bi-2

But Mrs. Fortuna nevertheless deigned to smile at the guys, and the ingenious director Alexei Balabanov, along with Sergei Bodrov Jr., chose their songs, deciding to include them in the film "Brother-2." And in the 2000s, Alexander Uman starred in this film as himself. Needless to say - after the release of the film, the talented guys from Bi-2 woke up famous.

In the wake of the film, the musicians smartly created their second album, which also included songs from the unreleased. And the song "Colonel" was a lever to wild popularity.

To date, the group has already nine studio albums, and this is clearly not the limit.
