The drug "Fluomizin" is used in gynecology as a topical antiseptic. Dequalinium chloride, which is part of it, is an active substance of a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action.

In the medicine “Fluomizin” (suppository), the instruction reports the following indications. The drug is used to treat bacterial vaginitis of trichomonas and candidiasis, as well as for the rehabilitation of the birth canal (before surgery or childbirth). In addition, the medicine is used to restore the vaginal microflora with dysbiosis caused by prolonged drug therapy.

Pharmacokinetics

A small amount of dequalinium chloride during vaginal administration is absorbed into the bloodstream through the mucous membrane, metabolized, and then excreted through the intestines.

How to use the medicine "Fluomizinum" (suppositories)?

Instructions for use of this drug recommends introducing one vaginal tablet once a day. For greater effectiveness, this procedure should be performed before bedtime. Qualitative administration of the drug is possible only in a prone position.

During menstruation, it is not recommended to use the medicine “Fluomizin” (candles). Instructions for use advise you to continue the interrupted course of treatment after its completion.

To avoid relapse, you should use the drug for at least six days.

During pregnancy, the medicine "Fluomizinum" (suppositories) is prescribed for the rehabilitation of the birth canal.

If during lactation there is a need to use the drug in the treatment of women, in this case it is recommended to stop breastfeeding.

Side effects

The body's reactions to the use of this antiseptic can be the following:

- itching.

In rare cases, an allergic reaction and fever from the use of the drug "Fluomizin" (suppositories) may occur.

Contraindications

In case of ulcerative lesions of the cervix and vagina, as well as with increased sensitivity of the body to the components that make up the drug, the use of the Fluomizin medication is contraindicated. It is not recommended to apply it before the onset of sexual activity.

The basis of this pharmaceutical preparation is metronidazole. Flagyl has an antiprotozoal, antiulcer and antibacterial effect.

It is prescribed for trichomoniasis, amoebiasis, giardiasis, giardiasis, intra-abdominal and anaerobic infections of joints, bones, soft tissues, skin, female genital organs. The tool "Flagil" is active against protozoa (Entamoeba histolytica, Trichomonas vaginalis), anaerobic gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms (Bacteroides fragilis, Clostridium, Eubacterium), cocci (Peptostreptococcus, Peptococcus) and also Helicobacter ppt.

Side effects

Headache, leukopenia, dizziness, epileptic seizures, ataxia, vomiting, abdominal pain, nausea, skin itching, diarrhea, allergies, dark urine, thrombophlebitis, erythematous rashes.

Dosage

The drug “Flagil” in the form of suppositories is taken intervaginally for 10 days at 500 mg.

When using this drug and metronidazole, candidiasis may develop. In this case, it is recommended to take antifungal drugs.
