He was invited to the role of Kolya Gorbunov, the corpse of a soldier from Afghanistan, brought in a zinc coffin. It was played by a young actor so believable that many viewers, and critics alike, thought it was a dummy.
In 2007, another picture was released with the participation of Balakirev. This time for the episodic role of Cap, he was approved in the film of Valery Todorovsky "Vise".

Balakirev masterfully embodied the role of a gold digger named Kefir. A year and a half in extreme conditions, the shooting of the new Russian film masterpiece based on the novel by Oleg Kuvaev lasted. Actors in their own skin felt all the charms of life in the cold. Filming took place even in those reserved places where a person’s foot did not step.
As Konstantin himself admits, working with such a galaxy of stars of domestic cinema has become an invaluable experience for him. He did not play his character, but lived.
