Interaction with other medicines

When taking Ofloxin together with products enriched with iron salts, magnesium, aluminum, calcium, its therapeutic effect is reduced. This is due to the fact that these substances are capable of forming insoluble complexes. It is necessary to observe a two-hour interval between taking such products and medication.

Against the background of the use of ofloxacin, theophylline clearance decreases by a quarter, and therefore it is recommended to reduce the dose of drugs based on this substance.

With simultaneous use with drugs that block tubular secretion, the concentration of ofloxacin in the body increases significantly.

Ofloxacin also affects the concentration of glibenclamide.

The parallel use of Ofloxin and vitamin K antagonists is contraindicated. A similar combination of drugs negatively affects the blood coagulation system.

When used in conjunction with nitroimidazole, methixanthin, neurotoxic effects may develop.

When taking “Ofloxin” with drugs that can alkalinize urine, the risk of crystalluria and nephrotoxic effect increases.

Ofloxin analogues are not described in the instructions for use.
