Sour cream jelly

To prepare jelly from sour cream, a great skill is not necessary, which means that even a novice hostess can cope with this dish. And the result will certainly please the hostess of her relatives.

In the simplest version, to make jelly, you only need a glass of sour cream, about 3 tablespoons of sugar, vanilla or vanilla sugar, and, of course, gelatin. First of all, you need to heat half a glass of water and pour a teaspoon of gelatin there. Now you need to wait until the gelatin swells and heat the mixture without boiling, stir until the gelatin dissolves.

Now you need to mix sour cream with sugar and vanilla and beat the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved. It remains only to pour dissolved gelatin into the sour cream mixture, mix again and put everything in the refrigerator so that the jelly freezes. After about half an hour, maybe a little more, it can be taken out of the refrigerator. To remove jelly from a bowl, its bottom needs to be literally placed for several seconds in hot water, now the dishes can be turned over. Sour cream jelly should easily slip out of the dishes.

To diversify the recipe, some add slices of fruit in sour cream jelly. For this, you don’t have to change anything significantly, just small pieces of fruit are poured into the container in which the jelly will harden, before pouring the finished mixture into it. Fruits can be absolutely anything: apples, pears, bananas, lemons and oranges. The choice of a specific ingredient is up to the hostess.

You can make even more variety in sour cream jelly. The recipe for this dish may look like this: a glass of sour cream will need a dessert spoon of gelatin, half a lemon, half a glass of sugar and some fruit. The easiest way is a banana. First you need to dissolve the gelatin in water, then grate the zest of lemon on a grater , and then squeeze the juice out of it. Now you need to peel and cut the banana, put it in a blender and fill it with sugar and pour in the dissolved gelatin. Beat this mixture until smooth. Then, lemon juice is poured into it, pour zest and add sour cream and once again everything is driven in. Now the mixture is poured into a mold and set in the refrigerator to solidify. If desired, pieces of fruit or berries can be added to this jelly to decorate. So jelly will be both tastier and more beautiful.

Another interesting variant of this dessert is jelly from sour cream and cocoa. To make it, you need half a liter of sour cream, a tablespoon of gelatin, about 2 tablespoons of cocoa, 1.5 cups of sugar, a teaspoon of ground coffee, vanilla and water to dissolve the gelatin. First, as always, you need to put gelatin to swell. During this time, in half a glass of water you need to boil the ground coffee, and let it brew, the main thing is not to forget to strain it later.

Insisted gelatin also needs to be filtered and divided in two. Vanilla is added to the first part and removed for a while, and the second is added to brewed coffee, mixed with cocoa, and about half of the sugar and vanilla prepared for jelly are added. The whole mixture is put on low heat and constantly stirred to dissolve the gelatin. It is important not to let the mixture boil.

While the coffee with gelatin cools, you need to mix the sour cream with the remaining sugar and beat the resulting mixture. Sweet sour cream must also be divided into two parts. A mixture of coffee and gelatin is poured into one half, and the remaining gelatin with vanilla is poured into the second half, previously heated to dissolve. It remains only to put both mixtures in a suitable size and shape dishes. Spread the mixture alternately, in layers. And then put in the refrigerator for half an hour.

Ready jelly is laid out on a plate. Sour cream jelly with cocoa looks like a real cake. It can be cut into pieces. And you can initially pour it into portioned cups, with transparent walls so that different layers are visible.
