From the creative village to the capital
Maria Shabalina, whose biography takes its roots in a small urban-type settlement called Palekh, was born on May 27, 1989. She combines the image of a simple but purposeful Russian girl. From time immemorial, her native village of Palekh was considered the center of art of Ancient Russia, in which ancient crafts, including miniature and icon painting, were actively developed. The fact that Maria Shabalina deeply appreciates her creative homeland is evident from the love with which in one of the projects she responded to the embroidered shirt from her grandmother-embroiderer. And Maria herself is quite a creative person - she loves to write poetry, play the piano and sing.
Family life and tasty work
After graduating from school in Palekh, Maria moved to the city of Kineshma, located in the Ivanovo region. She lived there for 5 years, got married and from there, together with her husband, moved to Moscow, where they began to live in a rented apartment. In Moscow, a young woman began to bake cakes, working with her husband, who took over the reception of orders.
It is easy to make sure that custom-made cakes from Maria Shabalina delight her customers, because she often likes to try something new and prepares not only delicious, but also beautiful desserts using mastic molding. In addition, Maria Shabalina bakes giant cakes, one of them weighed about 30 kilograms. Behind the master’s background is experience in the manufacture of several hundred cakes, and Shabalina believes that the main thing in this business is taste and beauty.
One of the recipes for her cakes clearly demonstrates this. For example, to make the “Painted Box” cake, you need: ready-made chocolate cakes - 3 pcs., 100 ml of pineapple syrup, 150 g of a dry cream mixture, 200 ml of milk and 100 g of peanuts. To prepare a cream, you need 1 can of boiled condensed milk and 200 g of butter. The second cream is chocolate, and for it you will need 1 can of ordinary condensed milk, 200 g of butter and 100 g of cocoa powder.
First you need to whip the cream with milk and prepare the chocolate cream: whip the butter and gradually introduce the boiled condensed milk. With butter cream, everything is similar: add regular condensed milk and cocoa powder to whipped oil, mixing everything thoroughly. To form the cake itself, cover the bottom cake with a cooking ring, soak in pineapple syrup and generously coat with cream with boiled condensed milk, then sprinkle with peanuts. On the second cake, also soaked in syrup, you need to lay out a large layer of whipped cream, and on the third - a layer of chocolate cream. And finally, remove the ring, spread the cream on the sides of the cake, sprinkle them with poppy seeds, and decorate the top with strawberry slices. Yes, none of the sweet tooth can stand it!
TV show participation
The name of Maria Shabalina became known to viewers, as she starred in five projects: “Fashion Therapy”, “Dress Me Up, Please”, “Young Lady Peasant”, “Dinner Party” and “Rublevo-Biryulyovo”. Maria Shabalina herself admits that thanks to such an experience of participating in television projects, she is no longer afraid of cameras or shooting. Although this is quite difficult, because in the programs in which she took part, it was necessary not only to look good in the frame, but also to behave naturally and with dignity. In one of the projects she even managed to win. As it was, let's take a closer look.
Maria calls guests for dinner
Of all the projects in which Maria Shabalina took part, “Dinner Party” deserves special attention. It was there that Mary was able to demonstrate not only her culinary skills, but also the ability to receive guests. The show "Dinner Party" is released every week on the REN TV channel. People of all ages, backgrounds, and professions take part in it. The bottom line is that five participants take turns visiting each other. At the same time, each of them has the same budget and must adhere to equal conditions when purchasing food for cooking dinner. In just 3 hours, the participant, with the help of the host - Grigory Shevchuk or Alexander Kovalev - must prepare 3 dishes: appetizer, main course and dessert. In addition, he needs to think through entertainment for four guests, so that the evening was not only “tasty”, but also not boring.
The complexity of the project also lies in the fact that at the end of dinner, participants give marks for dinner. Given that each of them has their own culinary experience, tastes and preferences, it is easy to imagine how much effort is required to please them. However, all these difficulties did not prevent Mary from winning the 360th week of the project. Interestingly, the participants of that week had to fight for victory in particularly difficult conditions, since the menu budget was only 2 thousand rubles instead of the usual 5.
The long-awaited victory
The dinner menu included: Kineshem salad with potatoes and veal, as the main dish - Volga pork with pineapples, and for dessert the guests enjoyed wafer rolls “For Beloved” with cream cream. Kineshmsky salad got its name in honor of the city of Kineshma, which played a role in the life of Mary. The salad recipe, which includes potatoes, veal, Peking salad, walnuts and mayonnaise, is quite simple. Although Maria had to hear criticism of him, in general, the guests appreciated not only the delicate taste, but also the beautiful presentation.
As for the main course, the participants liked the appearance, aroma and taste of veal with pineapple. There were difficulties in making the dessert, because of which the wafer rolls did not work out in the form in which it was intended, but this did not affect their taste, the guests were satisfied. In total, the impressions of the dinner were displayed in 210 points that Maria received from the project participants, which brought her the long-awaited victory and ensured participation in the super game. But participation in it was not so favorable.
There are gray days
To surprise the guests participating in the 361st week of the project, Maria included Palekh Mimosa salad with saury on the menu, the main course was beef with Golden Ring mushrooms in sour cream sauce, and for dessert, guests could try the Painted Box cake with cream of condensed milk and butter. Although the guests of the first two dishes, unfortunately, did not make the expected impression, they simply could not resist a delicious cake.
A huge number of strawberries, nuts and a delicate taste did not leave indifferent any of the guests. Yes, the experience, efforts and talent of Mary were not in vain, although they did not bring her victory in this case.
Maria Shabalina has already demonstrated many of her skills and talents, it is possible that Russian television viewers will hear about her more than once.
