- Collect the dough in one bowl and continue to knead it for 5 minutes. It should turn out smooth and elastic.
- Now you need to roll the dough into a rectangle about 12.5x25 cm in size. Roll out so that in the middle it is slightly thinner than at the edges.
- The butter must be wrapped with baking paper and rolled into a rectangle about 10x7.5 cm in size. After that, place it in the center of the dough and bend the edges to the center to make an envelope.
- To distribute the butter, slightly roll out the dough, and then quickly quickly triple the rectangle with your hands, and again wrap it several times and slightly squeeze the edges.
- Wrap the prepared dough in cling film and refrigerate for half an hour. Then get it, roll it out and fold the words. Repeat this procedure 6 times. If you notice that the dough is sticking, then put it in the refrigerator for a while before each rolling.
Puff "tongues" from the finished dough
If you decide not to bother and buy a ready-made dough, the cooking process will take much less time, which is sometimes just necessary. For this version of the dish you need to take the following ingredients: packing dough (300 g), about 2 tbsp. tablespoons of sugar and flour for rolling, about 1 teaspoon. Puff pastry tongues do not require any other ingredients.
Cooking process
Thanks to the use of purchased flaky text, the cooking process is greatly simplified, and the cooking time is reduced to a minimum, which is simply necessary in case of unexpected guests. Puff tongues from the finished dough are prepared in this way:
- Thaw the dough at room temperature. After that, it should be slightly crushed with sugar, and then using a rolling pin to press it. Just remember, the dough itself does not need to be rolled out.
- Now you need to cut it into rectangles in batches, or if you want, select any other shape. Just the rectangle is chosen because of the name of the dish - “tongues” from puff pastry.
- You need to preheat the oven directly with a baking sheet. After 5-10 minutes, remove it and sprinkle with a small amount of flour, but you do not need to lubricate it. A baking sheet with “tongues” must be put in the oven for 25 minutes and baked at a temperature of 200 degrees.
During cooking, the dough will rise and stratify. Serving such a dish is best with tea or compote. If you want to add sweets, you can spread honey or jam on them.
Puff pastry tongues with apples
This recipe is just perfect for pampering your family with fresh pastries daily. For this option, you need to take the following ingredients: flour 500 g, yeast about 20 g, 1/4 liter of milk, about 100 g sugar, a pack (250 g) margarine, salt, vanilla sugar, any apples about kg, a little cinnamon, vegetable oil .
Cooking process
Puff pastry tongues are prepared a little more than half an hour, and even a man can cope with them:
- First, prepare the dough. First, yeast must be dissolved in warm milk, add 70 g of sugar, flour, 55 g of margarine and vanilla sugar. Put the resulting dough in the refrigerator. Put 210 g margarine between sheets of parchment paper and roll it into a rectangle, which also put in the refrigerator.
- When the dough comes up, take it out and roll it out, then put margarine on it, cover it with dough and roll it out again. Fold 3 times and refrigerate for 25 minutes. After again, take it out, roll it out and again in the refrigerator. Repeat this process 3 more times. After, divide the dough into batch slices.
- Apples need to be washed, peeled and cut into thin slices. For each piece of dough, put a few slices, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- After this, the blanks for the reeds must be left for 20 minutes to make the dough fit. They must be laid out on a baking sheet at a small distance from each other so that they do not stick together during baking. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake for 15 minutes.
Hot tongues are much tastier than cold ones, but they are so tasty that, most likely, they just will not have time to cool. If you have made many preparations, you can bake some at once and serve, and wrap the rest with cling film and put in the refrigerator, and then bake them the next day.
