Pulpitis is a disease caused by inflammation of the internal structures of the tooth, namely the pulp. Most often, it is a consequence of untreated caries. Therefore, the faster treatment is started, the greater the likelihood of not encountering all sorts of complications.
Inside the root of the tooth and crown is the pulp, which is a soft tissue.
Before studying what kind of pulpitis treatment doctors use, let's focus on
the causes of this disease. Its appearance is due to several reasons:
- Penetration of harmful microorganisms from the cavity into the pulp.
- Damage to the tooth (stroke, crowbar crowning, fall, unsuccessful previous treatment of caries, exposure to alkali, or acid).
- Inflammatory gum disease (e.g., periodontitis).
- Inflammation in the root region of an adjacent tooth.
- Toxic effects on the tissue of some filling materials.
After the dentist finds a bad tooth and determines the cause of the pain, an appropriate treatment for pulpitis will be prescribed. First, the dentist conducts a thorough examination of a diseased tooth. If necessary, an x-ray is prescribed. Treatment
has three main stages:
- In order to eliminate bacteria that accumulated inside the tooth, dead tissue is extracted. Removal of pulp is a prerequisite, since only this action allows you to prevent further infection and preserve bone jaw tissue.
- Then there is the removal of organic waste, which is the food for bacteria, and the processing of channels (removal of nerve tissue).
- The treatment of pulpitis with the final stage includes filling the canals (filling the free space with specialized means).
Before starting treatment, the specialist does anesthesia, and only then proceeds directly to the procedure: treats the cavity, opens the pulp chamber, removes tissues and rinses the channels with an antiseptic, cleanses. In certain cases, the complete elimination of bacteria requires the use of special medicines, in this case, for a time, the opening in the crown is closed with a temporary seal. In especially difficult situations, the doctor may prescribe the use of antibacterial agents. Within a few days after the treatment of pulpitis has been performed, pain can occur, especially when bitten. Do not be afraid of this - after some time, these sensations will completely disappear.

In the event that you decide to visit a paid clinic, then you are probably interested in the question of how much pulpitis treatment costs. The cost depends on many factors, ranging from the used anesthesia, the number of channels and ending with the filling material. In Russia there are many dental centers that can treat pulpitis. The price in them depends on the qualifications of the doctor. For example, dentists with little experience receive at least 15 percent of the amount, experience costs more - about 25 percent. It doesnβt matter if you choose a municipal clinic or a paid center, the most important thing is that the treatment be successful!
