ARVI (symptoms and treatment will be discussed below) is an acute respiratory viral infection, which is most often characterized by damage to the respiratory system. If the patient does not pass tests to identify the pathogen, then he is often diagnosed with ARI, since not only viruses can be the cause of such a disease. The route of transmission of this disease is airborne. If there is any bacterial pathogen, then it is quite possible infection through household items or food.
ARVI: symptoms and treatment
It is quite difficult not to notice such a disease, since its symptoms are very pronounced almost immediately after infection. In the classic version of this deviation, the patient can observe such general signs as chills, pain in muscle tissue, headaches, weakness in the body, fever, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, behind the ears, under the lower jaw or on the back of the head, as well as strong damage to the respiratory tract.
Symptoms with various manifestations of SARS
If you have signs such as swelling of the mucous membranes, excessive discharge from the nose and nasal congestion, sore throat, cough, lacrimation, pain in the eyes , etc., then you most likely have SARS. Symptoms and treatment of this disease can vary significantly depending on which virus or bacterium caused the disease. For example, the flu is characterized by a sudden onset, which is accompanied by a "general infection" syndrome. After that, airway lesions join the main signs. If you have parainfluenza or other respiratory viral infections, then the symptoms of respiratory diseases (for example, laryngitis, pharyngitis or conjunctivitis) will come first.
Symptoms of ARVI that require the help of a specialist
If you have the following signs of ARVI, then you should immediately contact your therapist:
- body temperature greater than 40 degrees, not knocked down by drugs;
- impaired consciousness (regular fainting or confusion);
- prolonged fever;
- severe headaches, in which it is difficult to bend the neck;
- the appearance of red spots on the body;
- chest discomfort during breathing;
- discharge from the respiratory system with an admixture of blood;
- swelling and pain behind the sternum.
How to treat ARVI?
If such a disease occurs in a mild form, then most people are saved from it with the help of folk remedies (tea with lemon and honey, herbal decoctions, alcohol tinctures, etc.) and bed rest. But in more severe cases, you should definitely go to the doctor, as this disease can cause serious complications, which sometimes lead to pathologies such as partial or complete
loss of hearing, vision, etc.
As a rule, after going to the doctor, the latter can prescribe nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (Ibuprofen, Paracetamol, Diclofenac), antihistamines (Suprastin, Dimedrol, Tavegil, Loratadin, Zirtek β,β Semprex βorβ Fenistil β), nasal drops, medicines for sore throats, coughs, etc. It is worth noting that ARVI (symptoms and treatment were discussed above) is useless to treat with antibiotics, since they should be used only against bacterial infections.
