Isn't that perfect? Equip a team, board a large ship, raise sails and embark on a long journey into the sea or the open ocean towards breathtaking adventures. And then find a small uninhabited island and live there for some time away from civilization. Maybe so it is. But not everyone after this has a positive impression. The article will describe feature films about uninhabited islands, adventures in the sea or ocean. The list is presented below.
“Master of the Seas: At the Edge of the Earth" (2003)
Films about the sea, ocean, adventures, uninhabited islands are not always saturated with romance, as it might seem at first glance. The events described in the picture take place during the Napoleonic Wars. The commander of the British fleet, Jack Aubrey, manages the “Surprise” - the royal military sailing ship. His mission is to find and destroy the French ship Acheron. That's just that there is no need, because a powerful, well-equipped flagship, created using the latest technologies, is the first to strike and practically destroy the Surprise.
But the severe damage received during the attack does not prevent the brave captain from leaving after the enemy ship. They will have a chase in which they will have to cross two oceans and practically get to the very edge of the earth. At the same time, Jack Aubrey must be fully aware of his responsibility for this choice. Since at stake is not only his reputation, but also the lives of the crew.
“In the heart of the sea” (2015)
Movies of adventure at sea, on a desert island and travel on ships are often based on real events. The painting “In the Heart of the Sea,” which tells the story of 1820 with the ship Essex, which was attacked by a huge sperm whale, was shot on the same principle. It all began in 1819, when a ship with two dozen sailors on board went to the open sea from the port of Massachusetts. Their task is whaling.
But literally a year later they have to interrupt their activities. A powerful attack of the sperm whale damaged the ship so much that it forced the entire crew to transfer to boats. They had a long, hard struggle for life and thousands of kilometers to the shores of South America, where they finally managed to feel safe.
Icebreaker (2016)
Films (adventures in the sea, on a desert island) are always associated with huge difficulties that travelers constantly have to overcome. The film "Icebreaker" directed by Nikolai Khomeriki is also based on real events. It tells how in 1985 the icebreaker Mikhail Somov, moving along the coast of Antarctica, collides with a huge iceberg and, escaping from the collision, finds itself in ice captivity. There is no place to wait for help, at least in the near future. The only thing left is to drift, hoping for the best.
The first days pass relatively calmly, even positively. But then the crew of the ship begins to realize that the fuel and provisions are coming to an end. People begin to lose their nerves, they are divided into those who support the former captain and those who are on the side of the new. But the worst thing is that the same iceberg is about to attack again.
The Deep Sea Horizon (2016)
Films (adventures at sea, on a desert island) are not necessarily associated with shipwrecks or the attack of sea creatures. In 2010, a major environmental disaster occurred in the Massachusetts Bay. The accident that occurred on the Deepwater Horizon oil platform claimed several lives, caused oil to spill over a vast area, and the fire that broke out after the explosion was extinguished for more than a day.
In the center of the plot is an ordinary worker on this platform, who, as usual, was going to work and had no idea what might happen on that day. This shift turned out to be the most dangerous and difficult for him and the rest of the employees of the Deep Sea Horizon. The chances of salvation were very few. But Mike tried to do everything to see his family again.
Kon-Tiki (2013)
It is time to recognize that films (adventures at sea, on a desert island and travel by ships), based on real events, are mostly associated with dangers, difficulties and trials. It’s just that sometimes the heroes of these stories expose themselves to them. The plot of the Norwegian biographical drama is about a man named Thor Heyerdahl, who was able to swim from South America to the shores of Polynesia. But the most incredible thing is that for this he just needed a small raft of nine balsa logs, called “Kon-Tiki”.
Naturally, it only became more difficult for him to travel. Indeed, there are so many dangers on the way: a collision with sharks, whales, a strong storm and the scorching sun. Thor Heyerdahl and the few travelers who went with him will have to find themselves in a difficult situation more than once before they can carry out their plan.
Outcast (2000)
This film about the islands (uninhabited) at one time earned several major awards, as well as a lot of positive reviews and reviews. Robert Zemeckis’s picture tells of Chuck Noland, a Fedex express delivery man who is responsible for international courier services. Chuck has a pretty busy schedule, scheduled by the minute, and he spends most of his time on board the plane.
Once, during a flight to Malaysia, his plane crashes, and Chuck, the only surviving member of the crew, is on a desert island. For many years he has to rebuild his usual way of life under the wild conditions in which he is forced to exist. And fate, meanwhile, was preparing him another test.
Water World (1995)
This fantastic film about the sea, adventures, a desert island and life on the water tells about the future, in which water from melted glaciers covered the entire surface of the Earth. This cataclysm forced people to move exclusively on ships and boats, and to eat mainly seafood. Everything else: fresh water, soil, products grown in the land, were very valuable.
Among people there is a legend that somewhere there is an island suitable for life. In general, everyone is trying to find him, and especially the Smokers gang is fixated on this. Once the thugs go on the trail of a girl on whose body a tattoo in the form of a map is full. Now she is the main goal of “Smokers”, but a lone sailor who is also interested in finding the island, but is not going to share it with the gang, gets in their way.

And thanks to the satellite dish, she has access to the Internet, where Nim communicates with his beloved writer Alex Rover. True, due to difficulties in the English language, she still does not know that her interlocutor is a woman.
Once the girl’s father goes to sea, but doesn’t return. He is left completely alone, but not lost. She appeals for help to her friends, as well as to Alexander Rover.
