This article is devoted to the description of the acryderm ointment for external use, the instructions for which are given below. Based on this drug, several varieties of ointments have been created for the treatment of skin diseases. Here, in addition to the simple Akriderm ointment, which includes one active substance - betamethasone dipropionate, a drug from several components - Akriderm Ghent, is also described.
Instruction manual
The active substance of the drug is betamethasone dipropionate. Pharmaceutical group of this agent: glucocorticosteroid for topical (external) use.
Release form and composition of the drug: It is an over-the-counter medicine, is available in the form of a white cream. 1 g of the drug contains 640 mg of the active substance - betamethasone dipropionate. Additional ingredients: paraffin, liquid paraffin, petroleum jelly, propylene glycol, Trilon B, emulsifying wax, nipagin, sodium sulfite, purified water. The ointment is packaged in 15 and 30 gram aluminum tubes, packed in cardboard boxes.
Pharmaceutical action: For external use, it acts anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, has anti-proliferative and anti-edematous action. It has a stronger vasoconstrictor effect than other fluorine derivatives of corticosteroids. The severity of systemic effects is insignificant due to low absorption through the skin. Upon contact with the skin, it prevents the marginal accumulation of neutrophils, which, in turn, reduces the exudation of cytokines and inhibits the migration of macrophages. All of the above leads to a decrease in the process of infiltration and granulation.
Pharmacokinetics: When applied to the skin, a number of factors affect the intensity of absorption: the polypropylene components of the solvent improve diffusion, the pathology of the skin increases absorption.
Indications: Prescribed for atopic dermatitis; diffuse neurodermatitis; contact dermatitis (simple and allergic); simple, chronically flowing lichen (limited neurodermatitis); exfoliative dermatitis; urticaria; herpetiform dermatitis; seborrheic dermatitis; Hyde's knotty pruritus; eczema psoriasis lichen planus; itchy skin; discoid lupus erythematosus; generalized erythroderma (in complex treatment).
Contraindications: The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity, skin symptoms of syphilis; tuberculosis of the skin; bacterial, viral, fungal skin diseases; trophic ulcers of the lower leg associated with varicose veins; skin cancer, nevus, atheroma, melanoma, hemangioma, xanthoma, sarcoma; rosacea, acne vulgaris, post-vaccination skin reactions, in children under 1 year with a rash (if there is diaper rash). In addition, there are conditions of the body in which caution is necessary in the treatment with Acriderm. The instruction warns - the product should be used with caution during pregnancy, as well as with prolonged use or lubrication of large surfaces: with cataracts, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, tuberculosis.
Application: External ointment or cream in a small volume is applied to the affected areas of the skin with an even layer and gently rubbed 2-6 times / day. When the onset of the effect, the frequency of applications is reduced to 1 time / day. It is recommended to apply the cream on wet or damp surfaces; ointment - if there are dry lichen or scaly lesions; use in the form of a lotion if it is necessary to apply the minimum amount of Acriderm to large areas. The instruction warns: in patients with skin lesions on the face and in children, the course of therapy should not be more than 5 days.
Possible side effects: A number of adverse side effects are not ruled out when using the Acriderm drug. The instructions for use note that there may be manifestations in the form of burning, skin itching, steroid acne, striae, dry skin, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, prickly heat, secondary infections of the skin and mucous membrane. With prolonged use - in the form of skin atrophy, local hirsutism, telangiectasia, purpura, hypopigmentation; with applications on large surfaces, systemic manifestations are possible (gastritis, ulceration of the mucous membrane of the digestive tract).
Overdose: Symptoms are manifested by hypercorticism. Treatment for an overdose is symptomatic, with a gradual withdrawal of the drug. If necessary, you can correct the electrolyte balance.
Special instructions: Avoid contact of the drug with eyes and mucous membranes. The instruction indicates that the use of the drug for the treatment of rosacea or acne vulgaris can exacerbate the disease.
