Creation and formation of the Puppet Theater "Flint"
The creators of this popular puppet theater today, undoubtedly, are the Head of Mytishchi district Anatoly Astrakhov, as well as the director and actor Stanislav Zhelezkin. It was these two people who stood at its very beginnings.
In the early 90s, A. Astrakhov invited the actor and director S. Zhelezkin to create the first professional puppet theater (Mytishchi) in the Moscow Region. And he, as the head of the Mytishchi district, promised to fulfill and provide everything necessary. Astrakhov, first of all, provided premises for the future theater, helped in its arrangement and reconstruction, and later contributed to its maintenance.
Thus, on September 16, 1992, a decree was issued establishing the puppet theater. Preparations for the first theater season began. Mytishchi Puppet Theater, its actors, in particular, prepared the back ones for the opening and created the first performances.
About the name of the theater
The first premiere on the stage of the restored building took place in 1993 on April 2. The audience saw a play called "Flint", which was based on the tale of the same name by H. H. Andersen. This puppet show received great success and commendable reviews, which gave a good impetus to the further work of the newly opened theater.
Presenting his first performance, he still had no name. After the show, the idea came by itself. This puppet theater was called "Flint", in honor of the premiere performance, from which further creative work began. Since the opening day, more than 45 performances have been shown on the stage of the theater, each of them is especially popular. Parents are happy to lead their kids to puppet shows . Under the strict guidance of Zhelezkin, the Puppet Theater "Flint" took part in various Russian and international competitions and festivals, where he became the owner of the highest awards and prizes. It was the fruitful activity of Stanislav Zhelezkin that made the Flint Theater the recognized creative leader of the national stage, which represents its country around the world.
As for the personal creative activity of Stanislav Fedorovich, he managed to work as an actor in various State theaters: in Tyumen, Volgograd, Yaroslavl, Krasnodar. Most of the roles that he played (and there are close to 300) had a wide resonance in society. S. Zhelezkin is also a talented director, he created about 70 productions both in various regional, republican and some foreign theaters.

To date, the troupe of this puppet theater consists of eleven people, including honored artists of Russia and the Moscow region. The permanent director of the theater, Stanislav Zhelezkin, is a People’s Artist of Russia, and his wife, Honored Artist of Russia Natalya Kotlyarova, works with him.
