The drug "Protargol" - drops, widely used in medical practice. The tool is used in the treatment of various kinds of rhinitis and in the complex treatment of ear diseases.
"Protargol" drops belong to the group of anti-inflammatory drugs, applied topically. The composition includes silver proteinate.
Description. The drug is a dark brown liquid.
Pharmacology. Drops have an antiseptic, astringent and anti-inflammatory effect. Silver actively interferes with the vital activity and reproduction of bacteria, and binds to their deoxyribonucleic code (DNA, for short). The drug is used for instillation of the nasal mucosa.
Indications. " Protargol" drops are prescribed in the following cases:
- rhinitis
- acute rhinopharyngitis,
- laryngitis,
- urethritis, cystitis (and other diseases of the genitourinary system of an inflammatory nature),
- adenoids,
- conjunctivitis.
Drops "Protargol" is prescribed in combination with other agents for inflammatory diseases of the middle ear.
Before you start treatment with Protargol yourself, you need to consult a specialist.
"Protargol" drops are contraindicated in cases of manifestations of hypersensitivity. In addition, the instruction advises caution to use the drug during lactation and pregnancy. A nursing mother can start treatment with drops, but first you need to consult your doctor.

Mode of application. The medicine "Protargol" is used locally.

In general, based on personal experience, it can be noted that this drug is quite effective. The action of Protargol becomes noticeable already on the second or third day of use: swelling of the mucous membranes decreases, the purulent contents of the nasal cavity are more easily separated, and nasal breathing is facilitated. The color of the discharge turns brown, similar to clots of gore, but this does not need to be scared, because the mucus that separates is stained with the drug.
And I also want to advise. Before instilling the Protargol baby, the nasal cavity must be thoroughly rinsed. This is easy to do with special sprays that contain purified seawater. Salt water helps release the nose from mucous secretions, and they freely depart. And then, already in a clean nose with a pipette, we instill the product. In order for the Protargol drops to penetrate deeper, they should be buried in a prone position.
Safe drug "Protargol" is suitable for the treatment of rhinitis in children and adults. At low cost, it is very effective.
