Biography
Philip Rukavishnikov was born in Moscow in 1974 in the family of an artist and a ballerina. His father, Alexander Rukavishnikov, is a sculptor and artist. Philip's grandfather, Julian Rukavishnikov, a famous sculptor. It is not surprising that the boy developed a love of art from childhood. At the age of 9, he played his first film role, which brought him fame. It was an image of the character of Michael Banks in the movie Mary Poppins, Goodbye. The next notable work of Rukavishnikov on television was the author’s program on the channel “Culture”, which was called “Prism”.
The art of cinema did not attract the young man. His passion was sculpture. But the acquired fame helped the master in developing his next projects. Philip Rukavishnikov entered the Moscow State Art University and graduated in 1997. A year after graduation, Rukavishnikov became a member of the Moscow Union of Artists. During his creative life, Rukavishnikov performed at various festivals, participated in various exhibitions. Philip created many sculptures, working together with his father. Prism Program
Philip’s author’s program was released on the Culture channel. She went on air for 4 years since 1994. The program was dedicated to art. It raised the themes of modern painting, sculpture, the art of performance. Prism was different from current news broadcasts. The program conveys the spirit of the 90s. The boy at that time was 9 years old. He played the role of Michael Banks, the brother of Jane Banks, which brought him great popularity. An important part of the film was its musical accompaniment.
