Children aged 2-3 years are recommended to take up to 50-100 mg of the drug, at the age of five years -100-200 mg, up to seven years -200 mg and up to 14 years old -250-300 mg of the indicated drug, it is taken in accordance with these recommendations.

Also, "Metamizole sodium" can be taken both intravenously and intramuscularly, while it is administered up to three times during the day, but not more than 2 grams per day, and for children it is recommended to take 0.1-0.2 ml for every 10 kilograms of weight body.

Contraindications

It is not recommended to take this drug in the presence of bronchospasm, high sensitivity to metamizole sodium, hematopoiesis, hereditary hemolytic anemia, renal or liver failure, during lactation and pregnancy.

Possible side effects

Taking the drug "Metamizole sodium" can cause phenomena such as interstitial nephritis, oliguria, urine turns red, proteinuria, anuria. Allergic reactions can also occur in the form of conjunctivitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema, sometimes anaphylactic shock, bronchospastic syndrome, Lyell's syndrome can develop . Leukopenia, a decrease in blood pressure, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, and infiltrates at the injection site can also be side effects of this drug.

Caution to take "Metamizole sodium" is necessary in case of multiple trauma, in the presence of arterial hypotension, myocardial infarction, chronic alcoholism and the onset of shock.

If there is a need for prolonged use of this drug, it is necessary to carefully monitor the composition and condition of peripheral blood.

With simultaneous administration, along with chlorpromazine, hyperthermia can develop. "Metamizole sodium" is not combined with benzylpenicillin colloidal blood substitutes and with radiopaque substances.

The purpose of this drug along with hormonal contraceptives, non-narcotic analgesics, allopurinol and tricyclic antidepressants can cause increased toxic effects.

"Metamizole sodium-Pitophenone-Fenpiverinia bromide" is also produced, which is a combination agent that has an antispasmodic and analgesic effect.

With an overdose of the drug, nausea, oliguria, convulsions, gastralgia, decreased blood pressure, hypothermia, shortness of breath, tachycardia, tinnitus, delirium, drowsiness, acute agranulocytosis, respiratory muscle paralysis, impaired consciousness, hemorrhagic syndrome occur.

In such cases, gastric lavage is performed using a probe, saline laxatives and necessarily activated charcoal are taken. Hemodialysis, forced diuresis can also be performed, and in the presence of seizures, diazepam and rapidly acting barbiturates are administered iv.
