Halidor: instructions, contraindications

"Halidor" is the trade name of a drug that is called "Bicyclan" in international practice. The drug "Halidor", the instruction explains, belongs to the group of antispasmodics. The drug reduces the motor activity of cells within the organs, lowers their tone. It has a calming (sedative) effect, relieves cramping and pain.

The drug "Halidor" is available in three forms: tablets, solution for intravenous and intramuscular administration.

The active substance of the drug is bencyclan, from which the international name of the drug came from. Anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide, carbomer 934P, magnesium stearate, starch, talc are used as additional substances in tablets. The ampoules of the drug "Halidor", the instruction explains, contains, in addition to benzene, sodium chloride and water.

Who is Halidor recommended to? The instruction gives clear indications that the drug is intended for the treatment of:

  • cerebrovascular accident ;
  • coronary artery disease;
  • vascular eye disease;
  • diseases associated with circulatory disorders in the arteries;
  • ulcers and other diseases of the gastrointestinal tract associated with the occurrence of spasms;
  • after operations on the stomach, intestines, kidneys.

Tablets "Halidor" are indicated for gastritis, enteritis, dyskinesia of the esophagus, duodenum. In urology, Halidor tablets are prescribed to relieve urinary tract spasms.

The medicine has proven itself in the treatment of all these diseases. However, this does not mean that the drug can be treated without a doctor's prescription. There is a whole group of people to whom the use of the drug "Halidor" is strictly contraindicated. These include everyone who suffers from any form of renal failure, impaired hepatic function, pulmonary insufficiency. It was found that the medicine "Halidor" adversely affects the development of the fetus, therefore, it should not be used by pregnant and lactating women. Halidor is contraindicated in cores, especially those suffering from ventricular tachycardia . The instruction reports that it is not recommended for children under 18 years of age. Persons whose work is associated with increased concentration of attention, should carefully use the drug "Halidor": pills or injections can cause dizziness, impair the concentration of attention.

The doctor must be very competent in prescribing the Halidor medication. Injections or pills can cause an overdose, which can greatly affect health. Excessive intake of the drug can cause not only dizziness and sleep disturbance, but also hallucinations, epileptic seizures, not to mention allergies. If the first symptoms of an overdose of the drug "Halidor" are noticed, the patient should be urgently sent to the hospital. Only in a hospital can toxicity be removed.

Despite the fact that the drug "Halidor" helps well with all of the above diseases, its appointment should be treated very carefully. It is known that, in combination with narcotic or sedative substances, the Halidor inhibits the nervous system very much and can cause drowsiness or epileptic seizures. If you combine taking the drug with sympathomimetics, then tachycardia may occur, and the simultaneous use of the Halidor medication and diuretics can lead to hypokalemia.

It should be borne in mind that if you use the drug for more than two consecutive months, it is necessary to conduct blood tests to monitor the number of shaped blood elements.

The drug "Halidor" is made in Hungary. Other Hungarian preparations are considered to be its analogs: “Bencyclan” and “Bencyclan fumarate”.

How to drink this medicine? The dosage is determined by the doctor. However, it is worth remembering that its daily dose should not exceed 400 mg. Most often, tablets are taken for a month at 1 or 2 per day. Then they reduce the dose by half: a sharp withdrawal of the drug can cause negative consequences.
