The main area of โ€‹โ€‹growth of Kuril tea is the territory from the Urals to the Far East. It also grows on the Kuril Islands, whose inhabitants make ordinary tea from the leaves of the plant. Maybe that's why shrubby cinquefoil got its name. This low shrub can be found on the slopes of mountains or in river valleys; it prefers moist places or forest edges. The plant is sufficiently photophilous and blooms well only in the open sun or in light partial shade. In order to obtain medicinal raw materials, it is grown in nurseries. Recently, Kuril shrubby tea has also appeared in household plots, where it blooms profusely all summer, until the onset of cold weather. True, in dry weather it requires watering.

Brewed Kuril tea is light yellow in color and tastes quite good. But the most important thing is a whole bunch of healing properties, which are manifested in antimicrobial, hemostatic, expectorant, analgesic and soothing effect.

They have antiallergic, choleretic, antidiabetic and immunostimulating properties. Preparations based on shrubby Kuril tea are taken for croupous pneumonia, tuberculosis, and other serious diseases.

A decoction of this amazing plant has a special healing power. It is effective in dysentery and diarrhea, is a wonderful expectorant and appetite enhancer. Doctors prescribe it for fever as a diaphoretic or as a choleretic agent for inflammatory liver diseases, for neuropsychiatric diseases as a sedative medicine, as well as for blood diseases.

All useful substances are mainly produced in shrubby cinquefoil during its intensive flowering, therefore, raw materials are harvested in June. Shoots with a height of 20-30 cm are cut, dried at 50-70 degrees and are used to prepare decoctions. If there is no way to procure raw materials yourself, then you can always buy Kuril tea in pharmacies. The broth is used externally - for gargling and in the treatment of wounds and burns.
