How many of us do not know that it is better to get chickenpox in childhood? Even if there are people who will deny this, the problems from chickenpox at a respectable age are much greater and they are much more dangerous. Chickenpox in adults is a real problem!
Chicken pox is an acute infectious disease caused by the herpes virus (type 3), which is transmitted by airborne droplets. The chickenpox virus is quite annoying, spreads quickly indoors and therefore children in the garden always get sick in groups. Another source of infection for children can be an adult who does not even have a clue about what the carrier is.
So, chickenpox in adults often takes much longer - the incubation period can exceed the prescribed 1-3 weeks. Most often, an adult has no idea how and where he could catch this disease.
Signs of chickenpox in adults are absolutely identical to signs in children. The first messengers of chickenpox are skin rashes, which are accompanied by a very high temperature. If you have not had chickenpox in your childhood, be prepared to once see scary vesicles on your body that burst and form ulcers in the same place. Together with chills and fever, severe itching in the rash area will come. Be extremely careful, do not aggravate the situation by combing the inflamed parts of the body! Also, do not try to satisfy itching with hot water - it is contraindicated to wet the skin with chickenpox.
Needless to say, chickenpox in adults is much worse than in children. The body is literally covered first with a rash, then with ulcers, itches and looks just disgusting. Very high temperature only worsens the general condition of a person. However, as an adult, a patient with chickenpox should understand the complexity of the situation.
How to treat chickenpox in adults, you ask? Exactly the same as in children. A prerequisite is quarantine - this is necessary in order not to infect other people!
Be prepared for your doctor to prescribe treatment with brilliant green - like in small children. Itβs not a pleasure to go speckled, but while you are in quarantine, few will be able to please themselves with such a sight.
Do not take a bath or shower until three days have passed since the last blisters appeared. However, do not forget about intimate hygiene (use special napkins).
Diazolin, which should be taken on a tablet after meals in the morning and evening, causes desperate drowsiness, so do not be surprised that you will oversleep most of the first week of your illness. Diazolin will significantly relieve itching, which will help to sleep even better.
It will be a couple of weeks from the onset of the disease, and you will notice that the blisters begin to descend, crumble and leave in their place small circles of pink skin, which is so sensitive to temperature. The disease goes away, cheers! In no case do not try to help the retreat of the disease - do not exfoliate the blisters yourself, otherwise ugly scars will remain in their place.
It will take about a month after the illness, and only then the skin on the site of the blisters will equal the color with the skin throughout the body and there will be no trace of chickenpox (except for the memories). The bad will be quickly forgotten, and the funny look during quarantine will make you and your loved ones smile for a long time!
A special case when a pregnant woman falls ill with such a disease. This is not just chickenpox in adults, it is a real danger - both for mom and her future baby. If you soon plan to replenish your family with a small heir, and you did not get chickenpox in your childhood, be vaccinated so you donβt regret it later!
Be healthy and do not let chickenpox knock you over for a long time.
