Yanni Chrysomallis was born in the Greek town of Kalamata on 11/14/1954 and since childhood began to show a keen interest in musical art. The parents of the musician did not object to the hobby of his son, on the contrary, it was they who insisted on further training for Yanni playing the piano.

Youth and student years

Along with music, as a teenager, Yanni was actively interested in swimming and at some point put his sports career ahead of music. There are serious sporting achievements in the biography of Yanni Chrysomallis: already at the age of 14, he sets the national record in freestyle swimming and dreams of bringing the Olympic gold medal to Greece. After 4 years, parents send Yanni to study in the United States at the Faculty of Philosophy. It was during this period that he returned to music, joining the local group Chameleon.

First success in the music arena

Yanni's first solo album was released in 1986 under the name Keys to Imaginatio (Keys to the Imagination). The album brought fame to the musician, and Private Music, which soon re-released this album under its label, drew attention to Yanni. This release brought the musician worldwide popularity and marked the beginning of his successful musical career.

After several unsuccessful experiments with style, the next absolutely unique release of Yanni Chrysomallis was released in 1992 under the name Dare to Drea. This release immediately hit the Billboard charts and was even nominated for a Grammy Award. Both critics and fans call each song a real masterpiece, and in the song Aria, Yanni uses vocals for the first time, which makes her the most beloved and popular among the audience.

Yanni gives the first grandiose musical concert in 1993 after the release of another masterpiece album In My Time. The performance was held in conjunction with the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, especially for which Yanni rewrote many scores. The success of the concert was overwhelming. At that time, Yanni is already a US citizen, and this was his first concert in his homeland.
