The negative effects of mononucleosis

Infectious mononucleosis is a type of disease caused by a certain type of herpes virus - Epstein-Barr. As a rule, the consequences of mononucleosis are negative if you do not start treating it on time.
The main source of infection is considered to be direct contact with an infected person. For example, with saliva, the virus enters a healthy body, after which motocytic angina develops. Of course, high immunity is a protective function, since not everyone with the Epstein-Barr virus gets sick. It is known that a certain amount of herpes virus is present in every person.
The symptoms and consequences of infectious mononucleosis are often reminiscent of other diseases, so it is quite difficult to identify the disease itself and determine its stage. At the initial stage, the general weakness of the body appears, appetite is disturbed. As a rule, this period lasts 1-3 days, after which more serious symptoms appear, which make it harder for the body to fight the virus.

At the next stage, inflammatory processes in the throat, febrile chills may appear, lymph nodes located in the neck area may increase. To exclude the sad consequences of mononucleosis, you should consult a specialist.
Also common signs of infectious mononucleosis include the appearance of white plaque on the tonsils, an enlarged spleen, and a rash on human skin. Rashes are very common with measles symptoms.
Of course, the most accurate diagnosis can be made after examining the composition of the blood. The main indicator of the presence of the Epstein-Barr virus in the blood is an increase in the number of white blood cells or white blood cells. The content of atypical leukocytes is a clear indicator of the development of a disease of infectious mononucleosis. But these bodies appear already at the stage of the complete spread of infection, therefore, in the first weeks after infection, it is impossible or difficult to identify them.
To exclude the consequences of mononucleosis, it is necessary to start treatment in a timely manner. First of all, it should be aimed at eliminating the symptoms of the disease. But, for example, antiviral drugs are often prescribed that significantly prolong the course of mononucleosis, and also affect the general condition of the human body. An allergic reaction can occur to antibiotics, which is taken for characteristic rashes with infectious mononucleosis.
Of course, the consequences of mononucleosis in children leave a negative imprint on the further development of the body. The most โ€œharmlessโ€ consequences of mononucleosis are the inflammatory process of the liver and an enlarged spleen. In this case, special treatment and a long stage of patient rehabilitation are not required. More serious ones include hemolytic anemia (or destruction of white blood cells), pericarditis (or inflammation of the heart bag), myocarditis (or inflammation of the heart muscle), encephalitis (or inflammation of the brain).
The features of the disease in young children include the rarity of cases and pronounced symptoms in the first days after infection. Acute tonsillitis begins with a fairly rapid increase in lymph nodes. But after some time, the tonsils are sharply reduced to their original form. A characteristic cough and runny nose may appear. It is advisable to prevent Epstein-Barr virus from entering the body of a child or adult. For this, it is necessary to regularly carry out anti-epidemic procedures in possible places of infection (kindergartens, clinics, other public institutions). In the presence of a disease, as a rule, the patient is isolated from society until complete recovery.
