The Kremlin Ballet Theater was founded by choreographer and teacher Andrei Petrov. The troupe's repertoire consists mainly of classical works. Ballet is located in the building of the Kremlin Palace.
Theater History
The Kremlin Ballet Theater opened its doors in 1990. The creative credo of the team is "Fidelity to traditions in combination with the creation of new original productions." The theaterโs repertoire includes performances that make up the world heritage and were created by outstanding choreographers of the past - M. Petipa and others, as well as contemporary masters.
The Kremlin Ballet often collaborated with such choreographers as Vladimir Vasiliev, Yurius Smoriginas, Yuri Grigorovich, Ekaterina Maksimova and others.
Theatrical performances are made by the largest Russian and foreign artists. These are Stanislav Benediktov, Boris Messerer, Vladimir Arefiev, Boris Krasnov, Jan Pienkovsky, Angelo Sala and others.
Since 2012, annually the Kremlin Palace with the participation of the theater holds the International Ballet Festival. In its framework, invited world-class stars take part in troupe performances. Among them: Matilda Fruste, Alina Cojocaru, Federico Bonelli, Stephen MacRae, Anastasia Volochkova, Ilze Liepa, Vadim Muntagirov, Maya Makhateli, Ekaterina Osmolkina, Vladimir Shklyarov, Gabriele Corrado and others.
The Kremlin Ballet Theater takes part in the Russian Seasons project. Its organizers are Andris Liepa and Andrey Petrov. The project is designed to revive the masterpieces of the legendary "Russian Seasons" by Sergey Diaghilev.

Andrey Petrov
The Kremlin ballet was created by his permanent chief choreographer and artistic director A. B. Petrov. Andrei Borisovich - People's Artist of Russia, Professor, winner of various awards.
After graduating from the choreographic school A. Petrov will serve as a ballet soloist at the Bolshoi Theater for more than twenty years. He was distinguished by temperament, technicality, and was also a gallant and reliable partner.
After graduating from the Institute of Theater Arts in 1977, he became the choreographer. The internship was held at the legendary Yuri Grigorovich. Repeatedly was a co-author of Boris Pokrovsky. Andrei Borisovich staged ballets and dances in operas in Russian and foreign theaters: in Moscow, Sofia, Chelyabinsk, Bashkiria, Shanghai, Yekaterinburg, Boston and others. Repeatedly he himself was the librettist of his productions.
For the Kremlin Ballet, which he created in 1990, A. Petrov staged seventeen performances.
The performances of Andrei Borisovich are notable for their rich content, talented dramaturgy, innovative solutions, maturity of thought and brightness. They contribute to the creative growth of dancers both in terms of technology and in terms of artistry.
