Often a headache can be compared with an abstract picture: bright and incomprehensible. However, if you look closely, the details become visible. The nature and localization of pain may indicate a specific disease.
With ARVI or flu, headache is combined with fever and a runny nose. Localization of pain in the region of the crown of the head, forehead, or eyes may indicate inflammation that affects the sinuses. As a result of hypothermia, in some cases there is discomfort in the throat, around the eyes and the back of the nose. In this case, pain is associated with exposure to cold receptors. This usually occurs after a quickly drunk glass with chilling water or ice cream eaten. In such cases, relief comes from warm tea.
However, there are times when constant headaches torment . A pulsating character indicates a poisoning or a hangover condition. Often, persistent headaches develop as a result of excessive use (overdose) of antiallergic or vasoconstrictive agents. Hypertonics complain of the same symptom.
The presence of intracranial pressure in a person can provoke constant headaches in the back of the head. In addition, unpleasant sensations in this area accompany fatigue against the background of problems with blood pressure. However, in the latter case, it is enough to ventilate the room or regularly do morning exercises.
Persistent headaches can accompany the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the cerebral ventricles. As a rule, when tilted, they increase.
The causes of persistent headaches can be inflammation, swelling, or hemorrhage. In such cases, in the absence of timely assistance, paralysis of facial muscles or damage to the optic nerve can be obtained, which will provoke blindness.
Intense headache is often a symptom of cervical osteochondrosis. At the same time, patients also feel as if something inside is squeezing and crushing. Such sensations are characteristic of people whose activities are not associated with frequent changes in posture. As a rule, office workers who are forced to sit in a static pose suffer from this ailment. Often, soreness is paroxysmal, localized at one point, usually in the back of the head. In this case, the symptom may intensify during movements. Often the pain radiates to the arm or shoulder, and sometimes to the heart.
With neuralgia of the occipital or facial nerve, tearing, shooting, or burning sensations are characteristic. Pain can also occur as a result of a so-called βwhiplash injuryβ. This happens, for example, when the driver did not notice a speed bump while riding. At first, there may not be any unpleasant sensations. However, after some time, headaches may occur.
Treatment, as a rule, is prescribed depending on the location and nature. However, many are trying to eliminate the unpleasant sensation with painkillers (No-shpa, Paracetamol). However, it should be remembered that medications can only alleviate, but not eliminate the manifestation of the disease. Headache, as a rule, just does not appear. Regular, intense manifestations of it may indicate serious pathologies. Often, in the absence of specialist assistance, as well as uncontrolled (independent) medication, very adverse consequences develop.
In many cases, the pain is caused by psychoemotional causes. In such cases, you need to pay attention to your regime. Of course, you should exclude any stressful situations, relax more, be in the fresh air.
