Biography and work of the Soviet director Felix Mironer

Soviet cinema occupies a special place in the heart of every person born and raised in the USSR. The elusive avengers, Girls, Wedding in Robin, Office Romance, 12 Chairs, and other works of cinema of those times were remembered by the audience thanks to their malicious jokes, truly talented actors who accurately and sincerely convey the set image, phrases, which today have become "winged."

Biography of Felix Mironer

The future director and screenwriter was born on January 14, 1927 in Kiev (Ukrainian SSR).

Felix Mironer received his higher education at the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography named after Gerasimov, graduating from the directing department in 1950. During training, he was friends with another well-known Soviet director Marlene Khutsiev. Together they shot the short film "Town Planners", which they presented as a thesis.

After graduating from VGIK, Felix Mironer worked at the Alexander Dovzhenko National Film Studio. He held the post of assistant director. Then he went up. From 1955 to 1960, he was the director of the Odessa film studio. The work was fruitful, and yielded results. In the period from 1960 to 1962, Felix Mironer served as director of the Mosfilm film studio.

In the future, Mironer decided to leave the directing and closely engaged in drama, creating scripts for films.

He died on May 27, 1980 in Georgian Pitsunda, having lived only 53 years.

"Spring on Zarechnaya Street" was the first picture he shot in his youth. Its success was deafening: a little more than 30 million Soviet people watched the film during the rental. The picture remains popular now.

Two years later, the second film of Felix Mironer, called "Youth Street", was released. Like the previous work, it was created together with a friend from student time, Marlene Khutsiev.

The picture tells the story of the relationship within the youth team, who arrived to help in the construction of a new residential complex. Between boys and girls sympathy quickly flashes.

The success of Streets of Youth cannot be compared with the popularity of the director’s previous work. Unlike “Spring on Zarechnaya Street”, this picture received almost no response from the audience.

The last film of Felix Mironer as a director was “Coast Shooting”. The main character is the sailor Nikolai Valezhnikov, who received a temporary dismissal from the ship.

The most popular film that Mironer worked on as a screenwriter is Life and the Amazing Adventures of Robinson Crusoe. The picture is based on the novel of the same name by Daniel Defoe.

Another famous work can be considered a fairy tale film “The Princess and the Pea”. The plot was based on the works of Hans Christian Andersen "The Princess and the Pea", "Swineherd" and others.
