The most common pathology of the urinary system, characterized by the development of inflammation in the bladder, is cystitis. In a child, the symptoms of the disease will depend on the form in which it occurs.
Causes
One of the causes of the disease can be infection and fixation in the bladder. Children of both sexes are affected by this ailment, but due to physiological characteristics, it is in girls up to a year that the risk of developing cystitis increases several times. Quite often, children with immunocompromised cystitis suffer from endocrine diseases, chronic pathologies of the abdominal organs, congenital diseases of the urinary tract, and urolithiasis. In some cases, the body responds in this way to a lack of vitamins. Signs of cystitis in children can also be observed due to the use of certain medications. However, the main causative agents of the inflammatory process are streptococci, Escherichia coli, chlamydia, staphylococci and other microorganisms that enter the bladder from the urethra.
Cystitis in a child: symptoms and classification
Depending on the nature of the course of inflammation and its cause, it can be acute or chronic, primary or secondary. Acute cystitis in a child causes frequent urination (several times in an hour), which occurs as a result of compression of the nerve endings, and as a result of irritation of the bladder. In this case, the child may experience aching pain in the lower abdomen radiating to the rectum or perineum - these are the main problems that cause cystitis in the child. Symptoms in the form of urinary incontinence, sharp pain during urination and the release of blood in small quantities will tell about the development of the disease. In general, the intensity of the pain depends on the prevalence of inflammation. The chronic course of the disease is characterized by mild symptoms, which manifests itself only in periods of exacerbation. During remission, children do not complain about feeling unwell.

It is difficult to recognize inflammation in the baby. In this case, rapid urination, crying and a general restless state manifests cystitis in the child. Symptoms over time are supplemented by nausea, fever. On the diaper you can see that the urine has become darker. If you find even the slightest
signs of cystitis in your child, visit a doctor. The specialist will help to overcome the disease in the shortest possible time (with adequate treatment, the symptoms will be eliminated in a week or ten days).
Treatment
As part of therapy, children are prescribed bed rest for a couple of days, a diet and medication, often antibiotics. It is necessary to exclude walks and active games for the duration of treatment. Parents should ensure that the child does not get cold. An important measure is the regular observance of personal hygiene. Every day, wash with baby soap in the childβs shower, change his underwear in a timely manner. In addition, carefully monitor the condition of the oral cavity, because caries sometimes also leads to the development of cystitis.
