To get started, prepare the workplace. You will need such materials and tools:
- white dense paper of a granular structure (that is, not glossy) of A-4 format or larger;
- some simple pencils of good quality with different markings (TT, TM, MM);

Willow (rakita or willow) is a tree very common in central Russia. Loves moisture and dampness, therefore it is often found near ponds. The appearance of the plant is characteristic: on a strong trunk down branches are located, which is why the crown looks like a tent. Rod-shaped stems with green oblong leaves grow down from the main branches. The willow branches downward give it a sad image of a “crying” tree, more than once sung by poets.

Step one - draw the trunk and roots.

This "slingshot" is needed to indicate the contour of the trunk and the main branches.

Step two - draw the base of the tent crown.
More experienced artists draw down the weeping willow branches in detail. We are interested in how to draw willow easily and simply, so we use a non-standard technique. "Hang" on a tree branch two pony tails of different lengths, using them depicting sections of the crown. We draw the same sections (or layers) in the form of horse tails on the sides of the branches - about 3-4 on each side.

Continue to draw crown layers as you move up the paper. Soon you will notice that your tree will become similar to a multi-level wedding cake. It should be so. Please note that the upper sections are gradually becoming smaller and smaller, as if rounding the "tent" a little.
