Artist Andrei Zakharov: a brief biography and creativity

The artist Andrei Zakharov is a talented painter who does not hesitate to use the bold style of writing in his work. Most often performs with landscapes filled with lyrics and a fleeting mood. With his paintings, he not only captivates the audience, but also makes you think about a broader concept of the theme of the Motherland.

short biography

The biography of the artist Andrei Zakharov begins with the city of Rostov-on-Don. Born into a family of civil servants in 1967, from the age of five the child begins to attend art school. The genes of the great-grandfather (self-taught) were revealed in the young talent from an early age, as the desire to become an artist overpowered the dreams of a career as an astronaut, firefighter or anyone else.

In 1981, the artist Andrei Zakharov enters the school of miniature painting and then continues his studies at the Yaroslavl Art School, ending it in 1987.

At the same time, Zakharov enlisted in the service of the Soviet Army in the city of Poltava.

The family of the painter can rightfully be called very creative: his wife is also an artist, and his daughter is engaged in vocal art.

Creative way

The first teacher of the artist Andrei Zakharov was the master enamel Alekseev, who, according to Andrei himself, had a great influence on the creative life of the young man. The second to whom Zakharov gives his thanks is Zabelin. He is a professor at the Surikov Moscow Institute of Arts. When Vyacheslav Nikolaevich saw Zakharov’s work, he immediately insisted on his admission to school, and later even took it with him to create sketches.

Even while studying, Andrei’s creative works are put forward to participate in shows. So the artist exposes his work under the title "Portal of the Church of the Resurrection in Rostov" at the Yaroslavl Regional Exhibition in 1985.

Creativity: themes and paintings

The master was and remains in love with the elements of the landscape, which he understands quite sensitively and subtly. Due to the fact that the artist constantly traveled in his youth and continues to do so until now, his geography in paintings has a wide territorial range. Andrei Zakharov managed to visit the lands of the White Sea, Karelia, the Republic of Kholmogory and Komi, where some of his best landscapes are painted.

The artist builds the color balance in subtle coloristic details, but at the same time he thinks in large enough volumes in terms of composition, due to which his works acquire the features of monumentalism and epicness.

The artist’s work belongs to the outstanding and bright peaks of landscape painting of the 21st century.

after the rain

An important and respectable fact: Andrei Zakharov writes all of his paintings only from nature, perhaps because his works are capable of conveying all the diversity of Russian nature and the incredible, verbal description of her images.

It’s as if the artist is in control of time, stopping it for a moment and giving the audience the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful and unique moment.

Especially sweet to his heart are the places of the Upper Volga, which entered his canvases, poetically and gently filled with the rays of the sun.

"Pomeranian sketches", "Fishing soims" were drawn on trips to the shores of the White Sea, to the places of the Republic of Karelia and the cities of Novgorod and Volkhov.
