If we started this list today, the first thing that came to mind is a rustic potato recipe. Of course, we had to try baked or fried tubers before the appearance of fast food restaurants. But somehow they did not know how to use a huge amount of spices for their preparation. You must admit that with them ordinary potatoes turn out to be much tastier and more aromatic. True, many people doubt the use of dishes from the same McDonald's quite rightly. There is too much fat and salt in this potato. Rumor has it that tubers are genetically modified. Such a large and absolutely flat potato does not exist in nature. The quality of the oil on which the potatoes are cooked also leaves much to be desired. But nothing prevents us from preparing this dish ourselves. Our rustic potato recipe is very simple, and it turns out to be unusually tasty.
Potato "Golden" in the oven
As you know, baked potatoes have a calorie much less than fried. And this means that even those who follow a diet can enjoy it. Cooking such a dish is easy. If you use young potatoes, you donβt even have to peel them, with a peel even more useful. Cut the tubers lengthwise into 4-6 parts and roll in the seasoning mixture. To prepare it, take curry, turmeric, dried garlic, sweet red pepper and hot black, shallow salt, dill or marjoram in dry form. If there is no ingredient, you should not be particularly upset. Replace with a similar product or simply eliminate.
To prevent potatoes from sticking to the pan during baking, cover them with wax paper or a sheet of food foil. Place the potato wedges in one layer and bake until tender, slightly sprinkled with oil. We get out, cool a little and serve with sour cream and horseradish sauce. As you can see, our country style potato recipe is not worse than a restaurant one.
If peeling potatoes is absolutely lazy, buy a frozen product and a ready-made seasoning mixture. Dreaming of potatoes, like in McDonald's, cook it deep-fried. The only drawback is the high oil consumption. It takes at least half a bottle to prepare a few servings. Prepare ketchup with chopped onion and herbs and serve to the finished dish. It will turn out very tasty.
Captain's Potato
This dish seems to be a close relative of the popular meat in French. This is probably why the search engines with enviable tenacity issued exactly this recipe for all my requests. However, after much effort, I still managed to find the recipe for potatoes in a captain's way. Of course, I decided to immediately test it and modernized, respectively, my own grocery basket. It turned out very well, so I hasten to share experience with you.
For cooking, I took one chicken breast, which was previously cut into small pieces, leeks, about a kilogram of tubers, respectively peeled and sliced. There was no mayonnaise, I used sour cream and some lemon juice for taste. My favorite mixture of Provence herbs, white and black pepper, salt came in handy as a seasoning.
So, put the chicken fillet on a baking sheet, on top of the potato, onion rings. Sprinkle each layer with seasonings, top with mayonnaise (sour cream), sprinkle with grated cheese and bake.
Let's go back to the question of how to make potatoes in a rustic way. A nice crispy crust is the result of deep-frying. But a similar effect can be achieved using all kinds of seasonings. Prepare a mixture of turmeric, marjoram, sweet paprika, coriander, hot pepper. Dip each potato wedge in oil, then roll in spices and place on a baking sheet. Of course, the rustic potato recipe will be incomplete without all kinds of sauces, because thanks to them, ordinary baked potatoes turn into a famous delicacy.
Cheese sauce is prepared from cream cheese such as "Viola" or "Wave" and a small amount of mayonnaise. You will need a package weighing 400 grams, if you like it with mushrooms or ham, you can safely use it. We spread the cheese in a glass dish and literally put it in the microwave for half a minute so that it melts. Add mayonnaise (one to two tablespoons) and mix. If you want the sauce to be more spicy, add pepper or garlic to it.
