Doctors pay a lot of attention to antifungal agents. Unfortunately, salvage ointments, pills and syrups are not as safe as it seems at first glance. Danger is the property of active substances to penetrate into all tissues of the human body and poison the fungi. That is why doctors strictly forbid the unauthorized use of such medicines. It should be remembered that this type of medicine has side effects, among which there are cases of death of patients.
One of these drugs is Mikomaks. Instructions for use with this medication and will be discussed below. We will try to explain to the reader the effect of the drug and the reasons why doctors treat him with such caution.
What is the drug Mikomaks?
Instructions for use indicate that the drug belongs to the triazole group. However, this information does not tell the patient anything. Let us try to state the properties in an accessible language without numerous terms and wordings.
The composition of any of the forms, including such as the Mikomax syrup, includes the active substance - fluconazole. This compound has the property of causing the release of a detrimental substance in the cells, which ultimately destroys them. Flucanazole is not limited to the effect on fungi only; it acts immediately on all cells, including human cells. However, in the tissues of our body, the production of cytochrome (that same substance) occurs much more slowly and in smaller quantities. The therapeutic effect, as a rule, manifests itself much earlier than irreversible disorders in the patient's tissues.

Instructions for use include, among the indications:
- diseases caused by cryptococci (including meningitis, immunodeficiency, postoperative conditions, as well as the treatment of patients diagnosed with AIDS);
- candidiasis (internal organs, mucous membranes, etc.);

In all cases without exception, the drug is prescribed by the doctor. The fact is that the patient alone cannot determine exactly even a simple diagnosis.
