Diseases of the testicles in men are quite rare. They are characterized by unpleasant sensations, and sometimes, with the untimely adoption of appropriate measures, they pose a danger to life.
The most serious testicular disease is cancer, which is also the most common form of cancer in men. It has a characteristic development for tumors, in which mutated cells multiply uncontrollably. Symptoms manifest themselves very slowly and initially represent a painless neoplasm or compaction in the testicle. Often men discover a tumor on their own in the early stages of its development. With timely treatment, the disease is effectively treatable.
Testicular diseases can be inflammatory in nature. The most common disease of this type is epididymitis - inflammation of the organ appendages. These attacks are coiled tubular formations that are located next to the testicles. In the appendages, sperm maturation occurs. The disease can be infectious or inflammatory in nature.
Symptoms of epididymitis:
- slight discomfort,
- pain in the scrotum,
- increase in body temperature,
- edema.
This disease is most often characteristic of men from eighteen to forty years old.
Frequent changes in sexual partners and unprotected sex are also common causes of this disease. Injuries, increased pressure in the appendage (after a vasectomy), physical stress, urine entering the canal of the appendage provokes the development of epididymitis.
Antibiotics or anti-inflammatory drugs are used to treat the disease. In severe cases, bed rest, pain medication is prescribed. It is recommended to apply cold to the scrotum area. The pains last a long time, but during treatment they disappear within a month.
Diseases of the testicles in men can be associated with the vascular system of this organ. In this case, there is swelling of the veins of the testicles - varicocele. Every fifth man has this disease. Varicocele is an expansion of the venous system of the testis. This condition does not cause significant harm, but sometimes it is accompanied by a little pain and in some cases leads to infertility. If a pathological expansion of individual veins of the testicle is detected, which manifests itself in a lying position or with straining, urgent medical attention is needed.
A frequent pathology is dropsy of the testicle.
Diseases of the testicles in men can be caused by torsion. In this case, blood vessels are pinched, which means that the blood supply to the organ is disrupted. Physical activity cannot be called the cause of this pathological condition, since it often appears during sleep. If severe, intense pain occurs, urgent medical attention is needed. With untimely treatment, testicular tissue dies, and this part of the genital organ loses its function. An urgent operation is needed, the purpose of which is to return the testicle to a physiological position, fixation of the organ to prevent relapse of the disease.
Diseases of the testicles in men can occur with various injuries, and sometimes without specific reasons. In such cases, hydrocele appears - excessive accumulation of fluid in the membranes of the organ, which in severe cases can lead to intense pain and a feeling of compression, which intensifies and progresses and becomes extremely unpleasant for patients.
Diseases of the testicles in men are not potentially life-threatening, but they can lead to such a dangerous complication as infertility. To prevent these pathological conditions, it is necessary to observe all preventive measures, as well as promptly seek help from specialists when the first symptoms of the disease appear.
