The Musical Drama Theater (Petrozavodsk) annually on the Victory Day presents a program called "Wait for me." Here we hear war songs familiar to all of us from childhood: Katyusha, Nightingales, Ballad of a Soldier, In the Dugout, Roads, Random Waltz, Smuglyanka, and others, as well as poems from front-line soldiers . Spectators are always with great warmth and with tears in their eyes take this holiday event. The author of the theatrical concert “Wait for me” is Elena Leontyeva, Honored Worker of Culture of Karelia, and Snezhana Savelyeva, Honored Artist of the Republic, acts as the director. Actors create on the stage an atmosphere of expectation of victory, as those who fought for it, how they believed in a happy future, hoped to survive, how they loved ... On Victory Day, a theatrical concert will be shown on the stage of the theater. On the eve of the holiday, the troupe will make the “Victory Route” and show the program “Wait for me” in several regions of the Republic of Karelia. This is a kind of tribute to the theater’s propaganda brigades, who went to the frontlines with concerts during harsh war years, performed in hospitals and in front of partisan detachments in order to maintain the morale of the defenders of the Motherland. The goal of the “Victory Route” is to remind compatriots that the Great Victory was forged by the joint efforts of those who did not spare themselves on the fronts, who worked in the rear and who inspired the exploits.
