"Anti-AIDS" is a first-aid kit that is used to treat wounds in institutions providing household services (hairdresser, cosmetology cabinet, tattoo and beauty salons). This kit consists of certain medicines, dressings and hygiene products.
Why is the Anti-AIDS kit needed?
Using this kit of medicines, you can treat any cut or wound to prevent the spread of infection. The use of a first-aid kit is necessary in such situations:
- Preventative measures. The medical kit includes protective equipment: rubber gloves, a medical mask, a fingertip. Thanks to the content, the risk of infection from another person is minimized even in the event of direct contact.
- Prevention of infectious infection. If a specialist in a household service received an injury (cut, wound) in contact with a client, it is necessary to treat the affected area of the body. "Anti-AIDS" is a first-aid kit that contains the preparations necessary for disinfection. Using the tools in the kit, you can stop bleeding, disinfect affected areas, remove germs that have fallen into the wound. In case you need to treat your eyes with antiviral agents, a medicine dropper is provided in the medicine cabinet.
Organizations working in the field of household services and having a large staff of employees should make sure that each employee has a first-aid kit “Anti-AIDS”. The composition of the medicines included in the kit is aimed solely at preventing infection. It is impossible to help an already infected person using the funds located in this specially-made first-aid kit, as they are powerless and useless in this case.
What is included in the Anti-AIDS kit?
To prevent infection with HIV infection and hepatitis of a viral nature, the composition of the Anti-AIDS kit was developed. The first-aid kit should contain the following list of drugs and medical supplies:
- iodine (alcohol solution 5%);
- medical alcohol 70%;
- boric acid 1% solution;
- Protalgor 1%;
- distilled water (100 ml packaging);
- gauze and cotton swabs, dressings;
- antiseptic adhesive plaster;
- glass pipettes (5 pcs.);
- potassium permanganate (solution 0.05%);
- fingertip (5 pcs.) and sterile gloves;
- disinfectant ("Chloramine B" 3%);
- scissors;
- antibacterial soap;
- box for the first-aid kit.
First-aid kit "Anti-AIDS" (SanPin 2.1.3.2630-10, Appendix 12) is made taking into account all the recommendations and is an obligatory attribute in organizations providing household services to the public. Despite the name of the drug kit, it is not only intended to protect against HIV infection. The main purpose of the first-aid kit is to prevent possible infection.
It is important to observe the shelf life of the medications contained in the kit.
What to do in case of cuts?
In case of cuts and other damage to the skin, preventive measures are taken, the Anti-AIDS kit is used for their implementation. The kit includes all the necessary preparations for processing and disinfection.
To avoid becoming infected with HIV and hepatitis, workers must take precautions when working with piercing and cutting objects.
If a cut occurs, it is urgent to treat the wound. Squeeze out blood with a light pressure on the affected area, then rinse your hands with running water using an antibacterial soap. Next, we carry out the treatment with alcohol, after which we smear the iodine solution on the wound.
If blood or other biological secretions get on the skin, wipe the area with medical alcohol. Wash the skin with water with antibacterial soap and again apply an alcohol solution.
If blood enters the mucous membranes, the following manipulations should be performed:
- eyes washed with clean water or boric acid;
- the mouth is rinsed with an alcohol solution, potassium permanganate or boric acid;
- the nasal cavity is treated with Protargol.
Antiretroviral drugs
Anti-AIDS is a first-aid kit needed to prevent infection with such dangerous diseases as HIV and hepatitis.
For emergency preventive measures, antiretroviral drugs are used. Within a month, taking "Azidothymidine" is recommended. The combination of this drug with Lamivudine increases antiretroviral activity and prevents the formation of resistant strains. If there is a high risk of HIV infection, you must go to the AIDS center for chemoprophylaxis. Such patients are under the supervision of a doctor throughout the year, are regularly examined for the presence of HIV infection.
