There are moments in life when great painters open their careers in art completely by accident, so to speak, by the will of fate. So the famous French fauvist artist Henri Matisse, whose paintings produce an original artistic impression on numerous admirers of his work, began to paint by accident. Everything happened after a banal attack of appendicitis, which hid the young assistant lawyer Henri for surgery in the hospital. And his mother, who from childhood instilled an artistic taste in the future genius of painting, gave Matisse a box of paints and brushes so that he would not get bored in the room.
The beginning of the way
And soon, Henry is already studying in Paris with the artist Moreau at the School of Art. There he meets Meter Signac and some novice artists. And later, Henri Matisse, whose paintings exhibited at the Autumn Salon along with paintings by Derain, Vlaminck, Marche, Rouault, critics called "savagery", becomes one of the founders of the new artistic movement - Fauvism (in French, this word means "wild") . Probably one of the most famous paintings of the artist is the canvas "Dance". Its there are two variations. The first is in the Hermitage, the second is in the New York Museum of Art. Both original paintings were painted by Henri Matisse. The paintings at first were not understood and ridiculed by critics. One of them was commissioned and painted for the Moscow house of Schukin in 1910. It is characteristic that the canvas is painted in red, blue, green - in only three colors.
