Amoxiclav: instructions for use

Amoxiclav is one of the drugs used to treat infections caused by bacteria. Instructions for use of this drug indicate its antibacterial pharmacological effect, and quite a wide range.

Amoxiclav is a modern antibiotic. The active ingredients of this medication are amoxicillin (semisynthetic penicillin) and clavulanic acid (a β-lactamase inhibitor), complementing each other in combination, since they are similar in their pharmacokinetic parameters. Amoxicillin is present in the Amoxiclav preparation (instructions for use provide information on this) as trihydrate, clavulanic acid - like potassium clavulanate. And if the first active substance in one tablet of the drug is 500 mg, then the acid in it contains 125 mg. Among the excipients of the drug are talc, crospovidone, silicon colloidal dioxide, MCC, magnesium stearate, croscarmellose sodium. The package contains 15 tablets of Amoxiclav medicine. They are oval in shape, covered with a shell of a film of almost white color, biconvex.

Both ingredients of Amoxiclav are well distributed in tissues such as the uterus, lungs, ovaries, middle ear, as well as in pleural and peritoneal fluids. In addition, amoxicillin has the ability to penetrate the liver, gall bladder, saliva, synovial fluid, secretion of the paranasal sinuses, prostate gland, muscle tissue, bronchial secretion, tonsils. Using clavulanic acid, which has a weak antibacterial activity, the stability of amoxicillin to the action of β-lactamases is ensured. They are produced by microorganisms (aerobic gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, anaerobes, gram-positive and gram-negative, etc.).

The drug "Amoxiclav" instructions for use advises to take in the treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases that are caused by microorganisms that are most sensitive to the active substances of the drug. These are infections:
