Perhaps in the whole world you can’t find such a mistress who has never baked chicken. Chicken in the oven with potatoes is a dish of all time. In addition, it saves a lot of time - the hostess will not have to stand by the stove and prepare a side dish, because the meat will be cooked simultaneously with potatoes.

It is best to take chicken not a whole, but a filet, thighs or drumsticks. Such pieces are baked faster, and it is more convenient to serve them. The meat is thawed, washed and salted. Each piece is coated with mayonnaise or sour cream. You can sprinkle on top or coat with your favorite spices - adjika, mustard, suneli hops, garlic and others. The chicken in the oven with garlic or spices smells wonderful and arouses appetite. The number of pieces depends only on the number of eaters and the size of the pan. However, it is worth providing a place for a side dish on the sheet. The chicken in the oven with potatoes will turn out juicier if you cover it with a sheet of foil on top.
Preparing the side dish is the next step. Potatoes can be cut into thin slices, or can be medallions, about 0.5 cm thick. The time of preparation of the side dish will depend on how you cut the tuber. Sliced potatoes are put in a pan, salt, add a tablespoon of mayonnaise into it and mix everything.

In this case, the chicken is simply removed from the oven, and the side dish is left to bake. A few minutes before cooking, potatoes can be sprinkled with grated cheese.
Another variant of this dish: chicken in the oven with potatoes and sauce. To prepare it, you will need potatoes, chicken legs, salt, tarragon, pepper and tomatoes. And for the sauce: sour cream, olive oil, soy sauce, ginger root and garlic.
Washed and thawed chicken legs are salted, pepper and put into a container. On top lay a few tarragon leaves and tomatoes. For marinade, 2 teaspoons of sour cream and soy sauce and 6 teaspoons of olive oil are mixed. Ginger is peeled and ground on a grater. A tablespoon of grated root is added to the sauce. 4 cloves of garlic passed through a garlic clove are transferred there. The sauce is mixed until smooth and chicken is poured onto it. After an hour, the meat is removed from the marinade and transferred to a baking sheet.
The potatoes are peeled and cut into 4 parts. Stir it with the used marinade and tomatoes. Spread next to the chicken and put everything in the oven for 40 minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees.
Oven Chicken with Potato and Lemon
For this dish you will need one big whole carcass. The meat is washed and dried a little. Prepare the sauce: mix mayonnaise, salt, pepper and spices to taste. Coat the carcass on all sides, cut the skin in 5-6 places and push lemon slices under it. The potatoes are peeled, cut into thick rings and stacked in a baking sheet. Top a little greased with vegetable oil. The carcass is sprinkled with lemon juice a little more and placed on top of the side dish. A baking sheet is placed for an hour in a preheated oven to 200 degrees. To make a chicken in the oven with a crust, 10 minutes before the end of cooking, you can increase the temperature in the oven or turn on the grill. And so that the meat with the side dish turns out juicy and not dry, the baking sheet can be covered with a heat-resistant film or foil during baking.
