Jerry Mulligan Biography
Born April 6, 1927 in a family of zealous Catholics. They listened with pleasure to their boy playing the clarinet (for which he earned money by earning money after classes at school). However, two years later, the offspring terrified them when they acquired a saxophone. Parents considered jazz to be diabolical music and in every possible way prevented his enthusiasm. That is why the guy ran away from home as soon as he graduated from school. But by that time he already had experience working as an arranger, and he believed that he would not be lost in the big city.

In the middle of the last century, jazz was the most popular style in music and Jerry Mulligan contributed a lot to its further development. He offered his vision of this direction, which was fundamentally different from everything that other musicians played before him. This style of steel called "cool jazz" for its leisurely and melodious. After loud and piercing sounds, his music was like a balm in the heart of fans.
Fame covered the young saxophonist like an avalanche. On the wave of success, he gathers his own team. A distinctive feature of his group was the absence of a pianist. But this was not originally conceived - just once he did not come to the performance, and Jerry thought that it turned out even better.
