The inevitable attribute of any festive table is the cake. Today you can order or purchase at the store a wide variety of types of cakes: puff and biscuit, square and multi-tiered, decorated with fruits, cream or candied fruit, with candles, an inscription and even figures of people. And, nevertheless, we always want to find our own recipe for cakes at home, which will become your signature dish, which the household will always look forward to.
When the question arises of how to make a cake at home, we begin, first of all, to clutch at the cookbook. From there, we learn the basic information that the cake is a sweet and tasty dessert made of several cakes that are saturated with filling and decorated with edible elements on top. Everything is simple and clear.
But we really want our cakes recipe at home not only to be edible, but to become our own creation of culinary art. The most popular have always been chocolate cakes. Let's try to make such a dessert together.
Cake recipe at home. Chocolate cake with cognac
To prepare this sweet dish, we need:
- 125g dark chocolate
- 150g butter
- 80g icing sugar
- 2 pcs. eggs
- 2 tbsp cognac
- 200ml butter cream
- 2 pcs. sponge cakes
- cocoa powder
I would like to immediately make a reservation that our recipe for cakes at home involves ready-made cakes purchased in a store. You can bake them yourself, but if guests are on the threshold and there is not enough time, then ready-made biscuits are ideal.
Cooking method:
Break the chocolate into prepared ceramic dishes and add four tablespoons of water. Heat the chocolate in the microwave until it melts, then leave it to cool slightly.
Using a mixer, beat the butter, gradually adding icing sugar. Add eggs, cognac and already chilled chocolate to the mixture. In a baking dish, previously greased with butter, put on the bottom of the cake and grease it with chocolate cream. Then we lay the next crust and grease it with cream, too, until all the crusts are laid.
Garnish with the whipped cream the last (top) biscuit, sprinkle lightly with cocoa powder and place in a cold place for several hours. Your cake is ready!
I would like to note that the design of cakes at home depends entirely on your imagination. You can use nuts, biscuit chips, fruits (even canned) and much more.
Another homemade cake recipe that is incredibly easy to prepare.
Chocolate Lemon Cake
To prepare it, we need:
125 g dark chocolate
125 g sugar
zest of one large lemon
1 tbsp. wheat flour
5 pieces. eggs
75 g butter
1 tsp baking powder for dough
2 tbsp breadcrumbs
ground coffee
almond shavings
coffee beans
We beat the eggs in a deep bowl, adding sugar and lemon zest. Beat until fluffy foam.
Add flour (better sifted), baking powder and butter, previously melted. Gently mix the dough in one direction.
In the baking dish greased and sprinkled with breadcrumbs, pour the dough and set in a preheated oven (200 degrees). Bake for thirty minutes.
After the finished base has cooled slightly, cut it into three equal parts and grease each with melted chocolate, stacking on top of each other. We decorate the cake with almond chips, ground coffee and coffee beans.
For this recipe, you can prepare the cream described above.
To decorate the cakes, you can use food colors, which will give your product a bright and beautiful look:
- Yellow color can be obtained using saffron, which is crushed and diluted with warm water or vodka, and filtered after a day.
- Orange gives carrots or orange peel juice.
- Red shades can be obtained from juice of berries, jam and various syrups.
- Take the green color from spinach, which we pass through a meat grinder and squeeze the juice.
- Blue and violet colors can be obtained from blueberry juice, red cabbage (fresh or boiled), blackberry juice, grape and frozen eggplant peel.
Food colors can be mixed with each other, getting more beautiful and delicate shades of cream with which you decorate your culinary dessert.
