To prepare this dish, we need the following ingredients: catfish meat itself - 1 kilogram, one head of onion, five medium-sized potatoes, tomatoes - 4 pieces, one sweet pepper, half a lemon, bay leaf, salt, parsley and black pepper. As an inventory, you should prepare a suitable pan, chopping board, knife, bowls and cups for meat and other ingredients.

Separate the head, tail and fins from the fillet and remove all bones and entrails. Then we put all the meat except the fillet in a bowl, fill it with cold water with a small addition of vinegar and let it brew for about 20 minutes. At the same time, salt, pepper and lightly sprinkle the fillet with lemon juice.
We shift the head, fins and tail into the pan, pour water and cook over medium heat for 20-25 minutes.
While preparing the broth, peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into small cubes, approximately three by three centimeters in size.
After 20 minutes, filter the broth, using a kitchen strainer, and pour it back into the pan. We take out the meat and set it aside.
When the contents of the pan boil again, add chopped potato wedges to it and leave to cook until half-ready. After that, spread the pre-peeled onion and bay leaf. At the same time, we cut tomatoes and peppers into small slices, which we also add to the broth. Leave everything to cook for another five minutes, and then remove the bay leaf from the pan.
So, the catfish ear is almost ready. At the last stage, you need to add the fillet and cook our soup for about 20 minutes. About 3-5 minutes before the end of cooking, we taste the ear and, if necessary, add salt and pepper.
Ready-made ear should be allowed to brew a little, after which we pour it on plates and sprinkle finely chopped greens on top.
Catfish Ear : Some Extra Cooking Tips
If you find the smell of catfish too sharp and unpleasant, you can knock it off by adding a glass of vodka to the broth during cooking.
If you want to make your dish more nutritious, aromatic and beautiful, then along with potatoes, peppers and tomatoes, you can add finely chopped carrots to it. In addition, many housewives when cooking soup from catfish pour a little rice or millet in the dish (2-3 tablespoons).
