In 2009, a new television series with elements of comedy, drama and musical was released. Its key highlight was the fact that professional singers and dancers played roles in it, and part-time actors. "Chorus" is also known in Russia under the name "Losers", and its original name is Glee. The series was nominated for 19 Emmys, four Golden Globes, six Satellite Awards, and another 57 other nominations. And this is an occasion to talk about it in more detail.
Plot
The series begins with an acquaintance with Will Schuster, a Spanish teacher who works at William McKinley High School. In his youth, he studied in it. In the good old days, the school had a choir with which Will has the best memories. He was at the peak of fame - a support team, a cheerleading group. And Will decides to resurrect the choir.
The series, the actors for which are matched simply perfectly, is tied up precisely at this moment. At the time of recruitment into the vocal group of participants, the viewer gets acquainted with the main characters. Subsequently, the plot is built on an intriguing, exciting interweaving of their own lines. Here there is a question of relations, first love, inequality, family difficulties, friendship. Heroes are first faced with injustice, competition, the need to deal with everyday difficulties. They learn grief, joy, feel the sweetness of victory and the pain of defeat. And together with them the viewer experiences all this.
Leah Michelle
As already mentioned, the actors were very well selected for all roles in the series. The "Chorus" in the story has a solid musical component. Over 6 seasons, more than 300 original and cover songs have been performed. And more often than not, Leah Michelle, who played in the series Rachel Berry , pleases the vocal performance of the viewer . This is a girl with huge ambitions, dreams of a career on Broadway and a crown of incredible size on her head. However, she is an outcast at school. In general, Rachel is a positive and kind character, but with her arrogant behavior and willingness to go over her head for a career (even if it's the heads of her friends) can be annoying.
Lia Michelle herself says that for a qualitative embodiment of the image of the heroine, she drew inspiration from her biography. The singer assures - in her youth she was not popular and also experienced complexes.
Corey monteith
One cannot fail to mention him too, telling about the contribution that the actors made to the series. The choir, like any other collective, needs a leader. And if among the girls it was Rachel, then among the guys it was Finn Hudson, who was played by Cory Monteith - a Canadian musician. In the series, his character had a relationship with Berry (not immediately, of course). What is noteworthy - in real life, Corey, who played Finn, met with Leah Michelle, who played the role of Rachel.
Unfortunately, in 2013, on July 13, the actor was found dead in the Vancouver Pacific Rim Hotel. Measles has had drug problems since adolescence. He was treated, wanted to get rid of addiction, and it seemed he quit forever. But an autopsy showed that the heroin overdose was aggravated by the effects of alcohol.
Cory was a talented actor and musician - played the guitar and sang great. After his death, the shooting of the series continued. In the film, they did not beat the cause of what happened - and this can be understood. In the series, Kurt Hammel, Finn's half-brother, said a phrase that explained everything: βMany people are interested in knowing how he died. But I think it's better to talk about how he lived. " And this series really turned out to be very difficult and sincere.
Men's composition
Naturally, these are not all actors. The choir initially consisted of several people. It included Kurt Hammel, played by Chris Colfer with an amazing counter-tenor. Perhaps the kindest character from the series, who for a long time suffered resentment and mockery because of his orientation. Subsequently, by the way, he became the half brother of Finn Hudson, as their single parents got married.
And other characters can please the audience "Chorus". The actors made the series much more beautiful - if someone else were selected for the role, everything would have looked different. The dancer Harry Sham Jr., who played the singing member of the choir Mike Chang, participated in the series. And the footballer, a friend of Finn and a member of the choir Noah Puckerman, was played by Mark Salling. To be called in, he sent his videos to hundreds of agents. And he auditioned 5 times - even for the main role of Finn Hudson. Mark is a talented musician, however, in 2015 he was arrested on suspicion of possession of child pornography.
Still in the series was a hero named Artie Abrams, played by Kevin McHale. For all 6 seasons, the actor was in a wheelchair, because his character was paralyzed below the waist. And, as Kevin himself said, it was damn complicated. After all, he had to sit in a chair and restrain his desire to rush into the dance, while others fully participated in the rooms.
Female composition
The role of the arrogant cheerleader and member of the Quinn Fabrey choir was perfectly performed by Dianna Agron, an actress and singer from Georgia of Russian-Jewish origin. At first it appears as a negative character, but in the end it turns out to be a very kind and sincere person. The heroine of Dianna wears a crucifix - the actress said that it was new to her. The singer shares: the fact that her character in the story βslippedβ from the peak of popularity to the bottom, slightly annoyed her Jewish friends. After all, Quinn was the president of the Chastity Club, and then became pregnant, and even having changed her young man, at the age of 15.

Even in the series was the shocking heroine Mercedes Jones, played by Amber Patrice Riley. Surprisingly, the girl did not pass the casting in American Idol, although her voice is amazing. Singer-dancer Heather Morris played the role of the stupid Brittany S. Pierce, and Naya Rivera played Santana Lopez - a bitchy person, inside of whom, as it turned out, a sensitive soul was hiding. And the last main female character is Tina Cohen-Chang. Her role was played by Jenna Noel Ashkowitz, a singer and writer whose acting career began at the age of 3 with the Sesame Street program.
I must admit that the series βChorusβ turned out to be very interesting, exciting and unusual. Actors and roles are excellently matched. You can tell a lot about the composition - several dozens of people took part in the series. But it is better to take time to watch and get a lively impression.
