For children, 25 milligrams per kilogram is prescribed per day. The dose of Tiberal should be drunk in one go.
With amoebiasis, a specialist can prescribe a three-day therapy (with amoebic dysentery) or a five-ten-day course (with other forms of pathology).
With giardiasis, the duration of treatment is usually one or two days. For patients whose body weight is more than thirty-five kilograms, three tablets are recommended in the evening (once). For children weighing less than 35 kg, the dosage is set at the rate of forty milligrams per kilogram. In this case, it is more advisable to take tablets with an interval of forty-five to sixty minutes.
To prevent infection with anaerobic microorganisms, 1-2 tablets of the Tiberal agent are prescribed before surgery. After surgery, it is recommended to take the drug for three or five days. The dosage in this case is one tablet twice a day.
As practice shows, the medicine is well tolerated by patients. However, adverse reactions during administration are not excluded. So, the instructions for use include digestive upsets, headache, and short-term loss of consciousness as an undesirable manifestation of the action of the drug “Tiberal”. In case of an overdose, side effects become more pronounced. There is no specific antidote. To relieve seizures, the drug "Diazepam" is recommended.
Drug interaction
The drug "Tiberal" does not apply to drugs that are not compatible with alcohol.
The medication enhances the effect of anticoagulants from the coumarin series (oral). In this case, a correction of the dosage of the latter is required.
The drug "Tiberal" is able to lengthen the muscle relaxant effect of the drug "Verkuniya bromide."
The shelf life of the drug is no more than five years.
