Any parent is well aware of what disturbances their child's stool may cause. Indeed, in fact, analyzing the emptying of the baby, you can draw some conclusions about the state of his health. However, it is not uncommon for parents to draw conclusions that are completely untrue. So, for example, they found the chair was too rare or vice versa and “raised a panic”, although there might not be any reason for concern. In order to prevent adults from worrying about their babies in vain, this article will discuss the main features of a children's chair.
First of all, it must be said that depending on the method of feeding, the frequency of emptying may vary. So, a breast-fed baby will have more frequent stools than someone who is breast-fed. At the same time, from stools the mixture will be denser and thicker, and from milk it will be more liquid and porridge-like. The color of feces can be different: from tan to green. Moreover, both are considered the norm. From a medical point of view, this is due to the fact that the gallbladder emits two pigments that stain feces: biliverdin and bilirubin. The first of them, impregnating the feces, gives them a green color, and the second - brown. Therefore, if a child has too frequent stools, then he does not always have time to stain brown. This is due to the fact that in a short period of time only the first pigment can react, which leads to a green color.
A rare emptying scares and alarms parents no less than frequent stools in a child. Although in this case there are some peculiarities. In order to make the situation with the number of bowel movements easier to understand, it should be noted that frequent stools are caused by the fact that the baby’s gastrointestinal tract is still poorly adapted to food intake, and the baby’s food is not well absorbed. Therefore, if your “child” is emptied less frequently than some other children at his age, this may indicate a better absorption of food. The reason for more rare bowel movements may also be the fact that the child has not yet learned how to manage his intestines. Therefore, if the chair passes regularly at least once every three days, then this condition can be considered the norm. In this case, in no case should you give laxatives, do enemas, or just “help” the child with a thermometer or soap. By taking these measures, you can further aggravate the situation, as you simply deprive the child of the opportunity to learn how to control the intestines. In addition, laxatives can be harmful and addictive, i.e. in the future, the baby will not be able to empty itself at all.
In general, characterizing the state of health of the baby, it is important to pay attention not to his chair separately, but to the general condition. So, for example, if the baby behaves as usual, is completely happy and satisfied, is not capricious, eats and sleeps well, then there is no reason for concern. If his health worsened, then you should think about the reasons and perhaps consult a doctor. For example, if the baby’s tummy is slightly “swollen”, while he is crying and tugging at his legs, this most likely indicates an accumulation of gases in the baby’s intestines . In this case, the child needs help and cause stool. This will contribute to the discharge of gases, after which the crumbs will immediately calm down.
You should carefully consider the condition of the child if he has frequent loose stools. This is not about a liquid slurry, which may simply be in a child who is on pure breastfeeding. Some measures should be taken only when the baby is pooping with a very liquid trickle (by its consistency it is almost like water), because this can very quickly lead to dehydration of the child's body. In this situation, the child can be given some fixing foods: rice broth, pear juice, banana puree, carrot soup.
